Again, I haven't seen him in enough succesful movies ( and the one I saw was not great IMO) ..so cannot decide if he can push past others to become something or he's a one hit wonder -type.

No it doesn't always guarantee that the movies will he hit. But it gives a guy a lot of hype and buzz who is famous amongst the girls, specially if the actor is doing a rom-com kinda film. Kartik is right now what sid and varun were post student of the year, i.e. darling of teen girls.

Sid did had a lot of hype back then but now that buzz has fizzed out, it can happen the same to kartik if he does not prove himself as a good actor.

Karthik is not a good actor.

Ayushmann is limited. Not versatile at at all. Lacks screen presence and charisma

Rajkumar is better of the three but his looks could prevent him from becoming mainstream

it all depends on the movies he does.

Yeah I guess it does.

But he can't do rom-coms forever.. people get typecast and he'll suffer.

Re: SOTY: well then he should do SOTY. Karan seems to have been taking him in his 'stable. Why isn't he pushing him in that direction?

Re: Sid: why did it fizzle out? Growing older and new 'eye candy'? Or did he do something?

Yeah, but these rom-coms give a huge push to your career initially. Ranbir, ranveer, varun all have been part of successful rom-coms.

Soty gave that hype to vd and sid because of the way karan presented them. I don't think soty 2 will give that push to tiger, he is popular in boys not girls.

Regarding sid I feel, looks were the only thing going on for him. He is not a good actor, not a good dancer, has the tendency to get overshadowed by his co-stars. In short he is not able to make an impact.

Rajkumar lacks in looks department.he isn't hot either... I don't get the hype around Karthik...he is way too average in all departments

I think it is the family audience that love him more than launde lapades. Though he does have good following amongst the masses.

I think launde lapade like more of action masala movies like baaghi and simmba, varun's movies have been more inclined towards comedies. He is yet to do a complete masala-action film.

@bold: Thought the same too. Tiger and Varun are the only two from the current gen who did an outright action masala movie so thought that would have had an impact in their fan following in the masses/launde lapandes.
