KGF actor Dinesh Mangaluru passes away at the age of 55, reason unknown

The Kannada film industry is mourning the loss of one of its veteran actors, Dinesh Mangaluru, who passed away in the early hours of Monday, August 25. The 55-year-old actor breathed his last around 3:30 am at his home in Kundapura, located in Karnataka’s Udupi district.

Known for his solid presence in supporting roles, Dinesh rose to fame for his portrayal of the Bombay underworld figure in the blockbuster KGF: Chapter 1, starring Yash. His performance left a lasting impression on audiences, making the character one of the standout antagonists in the film.

While an official statement on the cause of death has not been released, sources close to the family have shared that Dinesh had been struggling with health issues over the past year. According to a report by local daily Udayavani, he was previously hospitalised due to a brain haemorrhage and had not fully recovered.

Dinesh leaves behind his wife, Bharati, and two sons, Pawan and Sajjan. His sudden demise has left his family, friends, and the Kannada film fraternity in deep shock.

As per the family's arrangements, the actor’s body will be transported to Bengaluru later today. His remains will be placed at his residence in Laggere on Tuesday morning, starting at 8:00 am, for fans, friends, and colleagues to pay their last respects.

The final rites are scheduled to take place at the Sumanahalli crematorium in Bengaluru on Tuesday.

Dinesh Mangaluru may not have frequently occupied the limelight, but his consistent and powerful performances over the years earned him a place of respect in the industry. From playing villains to supporting characters, he brought authenticity to every role he took on.

The news of his death has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with fans and fellow actors expressing their condolences and remembering his contributions to Kannada cinema.
