I have the feeling that the only one who really is able to discuss this movie is tina (and it doesn't bother me at all that she has a positive impression of the movie). Others have, maybe watched, too but apart from general statements they don't contribute to details.

And I think those who just repeat what they read or heard should not judge the movie or Kangana's performance because they rehash others' opinions.

Reminds me my experiences here with Zero... (praising or bashing is of no worth for me without a personal experience).

Thanks to tina, there are some insights to the movie.

Thank you, honestly I did not focus on who directed which part, I went to see the movie on Jhansi Ki rani about whom I had read a lot , we all remember the poem. It also fascinated me that there are not much info about her bravery except documents from the British themselves...

I was so trying hard to even find a pic but even that too is not available...there's no pic of hers documented .

For a British officer to remember her as one of the bravest he has encountered , says a lot about her

This is what I wanted to see on -screen and that's what I saw on screen.

I didn't see Kangna on screen, I saw jhansi ki Rani

I don't know that. If some one else has directed this film apart from Kangana, appreciate that person too. The movie is majestic and well made in my opinion. I'm not good with writing essays of reviews, so I don't appreciate indirect taunts directed at me that indicate I'm rehashing others views without watching the film! Intolerable.. People for whom I need to 'prove' that I have watched the film can ask me specific questions which I may have to answer to prove that I have seen the film. This is annoying.

Went and saw the movie today just for Kangana and I must say I wasn't disappointed. She was just phenomenal throughout and she has single handedly carried the movie and made Rani LakshmiBai who she is. I enjoyed the movie and was thoroughly riveted as I saw the story unfold. Kangana has given her all which is visible in each and every frame of the film ably supported by the rest of the cast. Certain scenes really stood out for me which stayed till the end. Special mention to the costume designer and whoever has done her make-up, Kangana looked beautiful throughout and so charismatic on screen. Rani LakshmiBai's story is one that needs to be told and she has done full justice in my opinion, giving this one a 4/5. 👏

Udhay, sorry ... only the first paragraph was adressed to you, okay? and when you tell you didn't know about Krish then you answered my question.

I'm also terrible in writing reviews and also prefer to answer to questions or to comment to a specific point.

So please, no hard feelings, Udhay.

I really choked up in many moments, they may not be huge moments or dramatic but when you know the history of Rani Lakshmi Bai and then you actually see , this is how they fought, this is how much they sacrificed, this is what they gave up...
You have a lump in your throat...at least for me, I recognized that she did this in real , she did sacrifice her life fighting till the end...

That's when I felt that everyone should know about her, and what she did.

In a way we have forgotten our bravehearts and this movie at least shows a glimpse of our proud warrior queen

Marnikarnika - The Queen Of Jhansi had huge growth of around 130-140% on the big national holiday and this is double the growth it would have had on the normal Saturday. The collections will be in the 18-19 crore nett range which will take the film to 26-27 crore nett in two days.

The collections will be the highest single day ever for a female driven film but that is mainly because its very unlikely these films get a chance to have a release when there is a national holiday. It will easily beat the numbers of another Kangana Ranaut film Tanu Weds Manu Returns which collected 15.85 crore nett on Sunday which the highest day ever for a female driven film.

Despite the huge growth there is still a lot of work for the film to do because there is a big cost involved. The test will be on Sunday as the film cannot afford to drop a lot from this Saturday number and then the crucial Monday.
