Kangana Ranaut's directorial debut Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi was off to a flying start when it released on January 25, 2019, and now, a full four weeks later, the film has entered the Rs 100 crore club successfully. Starring Kangana Ranaut as the Queen of Jhansi, the film stayed steady at the box office despite releases like Thackeray. The collections, however, dropped after Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy released on Valentine's Day. Despite this, the film managed to slowly reach the 100-crore mark.
As per Box Office Today, the film's collections pan India are Rs 100.05 crores. A biopic on Rani Lakshmibai, the film landed into a lot of controversy ahead of its release, but eventually, it released and the Queen actress won hearts of the audience with her splendid performance. The actress added another feather to her hat with Manikarnika as a successful director of the film.
Despite the appreciation the film got from critics and viewers, not many people from the industry supported or encouraged the film. Even after the film's co-director, Krish accused Kangana for taking all the credit, no one from the film industry spoke in support of the actor-writer-filmmaker. A disappointed Kangana slammed the film industry for not getting enough support from them for Manikarnika.

The actress now plans to make a film based on her own life. As per reports, the film will be scripted by Bahubali writer KV Vijayendra who is also the writer of Manikarnika. The film will go on floors by the end of this year in October-November. Meanwhile, Kangana will next be seen in Ekta Kapoor's Mental Hai Kya and Fox Star Studio's Panga.
Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika has finally crossed the Rs 100 crore mark. The Republic Day release took about five weeks to reach the milestone. According to reports, the film that also marks Kangana's directorial debut has earned Rs 150 crore worldwide.

After a dismal opening of Rs 8.75 crore, Manikarnika collections saw a significant rise and the film crossed the Rs 50-crore mark in five days. Manikarnika was released across 3,000 screens in India and 700 screens overseas.

According to a report on BOI, Uri The Surgical Strike collected of Rs 7 crore in the sixth weekend,beating the sixth week numbers of Gadar (Rs 6.09 crore), Badhaai Ho (5.72 crore nett) and Bahubali - The Conclusion (5.38 crore nett) in three days.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the war drama stars Yami Gautam and Vicky Kaushal in lead roles. He has emerged as the latest bankable star with the film that is based on 2016 surgical strikes. Uri is Vicky's first solo Rs 100 crore film, his second highest grosser, Yami Gautam's highest grosser ever and was 2019's first Bollywood release, which also became the first blockbuster.

The film steered clear out of a lot of controversies and was finally loved and accepted by the critics as well as the audience. Manikarnika is currently in its fourth week at the box-office and today, the film finally entered the prestigious Rs 100 crore club. Though the film started slow, it has managed to rake in over 100 crores at the box-office which is a victory. It is a huge achievement for Kangana as this is her first film as a director and she has also played the lead in it. During week one, the film earned Rs 61.51crore, followed by Rs 24.39 crore and Rs 11.64 crore during week two and three.
Manikarnika earned Rs 2.51 crore during its fourth weekend making the total Rs 100.05 crore. And thus it has become the second project of 2019 to enter the 100 crore club, the first one being Vicky Kaushal's Uri: The Surgical Strike. We congratulate team Manikarnika for crossing this milestone.

The actress' sister Rangoli Chandel tweeted the figures, saying that Manikarnika is also doing good business abroad with Rs 152 crore and counting. Apart from the box office numbers, Rangoli also posted the various investments and returns that Manikarnika has benefited from so far.
Made at a budget of Rs 79 crore, Manikarnika's digital rights were sold at Rs 40 crore, satellite rights at Rs 20 crore and distribution rights at Rs 61 crore. From print and marketing, Manikarnika earned as well as it collected Rs 22 crore.

Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi fared well at the box office upon its release on January 25 and impressed critics too. The film, though, involved itself in controversy ever since Krish, who was directing the project, opted out of it midway. Kangana, who plays the titular role in the film, stepped into Krish's shoes as the director after he departed the project due to what has been blamed on scheduling conflicts and creative differences.
