Deepika is not the most articulate person so I don't even think she was trolling. Most probably she wanted to convey that they don't talk often but that is how their relationship is (I think thos is what she meant by beauty of the relationship), that they don't owe each other any explanation or have any expectation from each other.
When it was a party he organized he had the gall to call her up and invite her and her bf but he did not give them a call to explain as to why he was unable to attend the wedding reception. And she did not bother to call him up to find out why he did not attend.
Jitesh's question was about how Ranbir was going through a tough time in life and how he did not attend the wedding, she did not address the part about the tough time he was going through in his personal life. If she was so hung up on him, would she not call him up to find out what was going on. But she did not. She was from the industry so she would have heard about Rishi and his ailment.
If one can call up an ex and invite her and her bf to a house party he organized I think he/ she can call up or text to explain why he was unable to attend the said ex's wedding reception.
And people saying it is weird to attend exes wedding, I have attended wedding of two of my exes and it was not weird at all. One was an ex who cheated on with me another girl (they did not get married). He got married to one of my colleagues at work. There is no awkwardness between us. His wife and I get along really well and I'm her boss... The other ex was my high school boyfriend. We were friends even before we dated so after the breakup we stayed friends. My hubby is his gym buddy. Others who don't know our history may find it weird but we all moved on so there is zero awkwardness between us.. And the second ex is a legit friend so I talk to him and meet up with him on a regular basis. And he still call me the nickname he used to call me when we dated... The other thing is, my hubby's bestfriend is married to one of his ex gfs. We attended each others weddings and even helped out in the planning. We hangout and chill together. They recently had a baby and our group (including me) teased my hubby that he is the baby's ex step father and he took it sportingly. I don't have issues hanging out with my hubby's ex and there i s a lot of teasing and pulling each others legs regarding the ex factor between all of us.
