Well I don't, can't remember the last time I watched a film on TV, except if I switch through channels and come across Sholay which is an all time family fav, but still can't watch it entirely.
Some people have loads of patience..

Yeah, I tried watching it on Prime(or netflix?) and remember dozing off within the first few minutes...Some movies can never be enjoyed on the small screens no matter how big your small screen is! That's why one shouldn't judge movies like Padmavat after watching its pirated version on their laptops...😆

The people you don't know.😆 Just because it doesn't happen around you doesn't mean it doesn't happen anywhere. Otherwise none of these impressions would come up nor would the producers successfully sell their satellite rights to channels. The hindi movie viewing market is huge.Star is soon launching another genre specifc movie channel for the same reason. There are more viewers watching movies on TV than the ones watching movies in theatre. The TV audience pefer interrupted breaks over uninterrupted movie watching experience because they do a lot of things along with watching the film be it cooking, household chores, etc.Hence the breaks don't bother them.
Also none of the channels these days strech a film so long due to high prices of per second slots for advertisers. They go max 3.5 hrs for the movie broadcasting on SD channel and max 3 hrs for the same broadcasting on an HD channel.

Watching movies in theatres and we is what we do. And we are the minority here. There's still a majority of the audience coming from Tier 2 and 3 cities and rural areas who can afford only selective theatre sceeenings or none at all. Hence for the rest, the watch it during the premiere on TV.

I hate those long TV ad breaks in between serials and movies
so nowadays I record every show and movie I want to watch on DVR and watch them later skipping those pesky ads 😆
On Sony they give 8 mins ads in every break!! Even Zee has 10 mins ads in movie breaks, so damn annoying, totally spoils the flow of the movie 😡
But sometimes I also do chores during the ads, like making tea/coffee, turning over food in the oven, vaccuuming the room etc 😆

I got it, you don't watch, most of the urban youth don't nowadays as most of them find content online nowadays, was just telling you that their is still a huge number of people who watch, bigger than the number who use online content.

Opt for their online apps if it's available in your country. Zee5 and SonyLiv. Ive done the same. Left Tata Sky. Now enjoying ad free content.😆

I try to do that but often I tend to forget about the movie and get distracted into something else...😳😆...Also lets say if its a movie like Andhadhun...I would've lost the interest within the first few minutes...I don't know how others do it but only dance&song movies I can watch on the small screen doing multi tasking!

the most popular is the South masala genre.
Nothing can beat them.

True, movies like Andhadhun I will always watch in theaters and if I miss that then on Netflix, cannot afford to lose concentration in movies like that
LOL at being distracted and forgetting abt the movie 😆 Has happened to me too, I started on my computer or phone during ads and later just switched off the movie because I wasnt watching it 😆
Song and dance type movie, masala action or comedies can be enjoyed on TV more than serious movies or thrillers which need concentration
