I think he is too frank and like he himself admitted he reacts differently at diffrent points which might come across as arrogant, and he acknowledges it. There is no arrogance in the way he said that... like many of the real arrogant ones go " I am what I am" types... he seems to go through constant phases of self-discovery to always stay in touch with reality.

I just watched the interview Roger posted, it's my 1st interview of him and I can sort of relate to and understand most of what he said 😆 There is a spark of wisdom and self-awareness there which is fresh departure from most of senior telugu actors.

Oh? He is well connected? But did those connections help him in establishing a foot in telugu industry? We can't say for sure... In recent I think it's Nani who made it completely on his own?

He is one of those cases where he comes across as really sorted during one on one interviews but seems arrogant otherwise, like Ranveer sounds so sorted and deep during some interviews and is a complete joker otherwise, of course I find the latter's off screen persona more endearing. 😆 I can't pinpoint what exactly makes Vijay work, but he has a sense of stardom which actually looks nice on him. Also, age is one more factor which works for me, he is pretty young enough to be relatable and doesn't feel as if he belongs to a different generation and the contrasting personalities during different situations thing has become very common these days and doesn't shock me much, anymore. 😆

Ditto. I think it's this interview that sort of tilted the balance 😆A lot of answers he gave sounded relatable and genuine.I loved what he said about how success has changed him cos he is less dependent on ppl now and while he believes in destiny, he feels like he made a lot of things happen on his own. I also liked how matter of fact he was about nepotism. For now I do think he is more intelligent than he let's on and sounds pretty sane. Let's see how long it lasts 😆

There were few articles, like this one
http://english.tupaki.com/movienews/article/Vijay-Devarakonda-Relative-of-KCR/58465

but offline, there were many people who claimed he comes from powerful family...however it might be a case like Jr.NTR...jr.NTR struggled a lot for foothold even though he is from one of the most powerful families...all the familial connections were made and highlighted once he was successful...Possible that people like Vijay may fall under this category...

Overrated actor. His Arjun Reddy was a piece of trash. And he's annoying off-screen too so that doesn't help.

Was'nt Jr. NTR born out of wedlock? His mom was not Harikrishna's legally wedded wife. I remember reading about how he was treated badly during childhood and his family never really accepted him till he became successful. I don't think nepotism helped him in anyway 😆

DQ and VD are best actors in south industry right now? Seriously? I love both but it's sad people don't know a gem called Vijay Sethupathi in Tamil film industry who could act circles around any other actor let alone DQ and VD. Anyways it's not like I hate these two, infact I'm crazy about DQ and starting to feel the same for VD. But best actors currently? Nope. Like someone mentioned, I would pick Nivin and Fahad over DQ as the better actors. That's said DQ has a charm to die for and is the biggest reason why I am a fan. VD has a charm too which is clearly why I'm liking him too.

To each their own. I think its also about the actors that someone is exposed to and the kind of movies that they like to watch.

Being a Mallu, I have only seen DQ (not VD or VS) and I love him. Also, seeing VD in your post, for a second I was like, why are we talking about Varun Dhawan here😆😆😆😆

For me an actor has to have a lil bit of everything - charm, good looks, x-factor, offscreen charisma, etc.

If Nivin and Fahad are 8/10 in terms of acting, DQ is a 7.5/10 as well (for me). Hez not bad at all, maybe he has not taken up those kind of roles. Nivin and Fahad do a lot of serious cinema which shows their prowess, DQ's movies are lighter in comparison I think, very feel good. So it looks like hez not put anything into it. I have not seen Kammatipadam or any of DQ's serious films coz I don't think he fits those roles and I don't like that kinda cinema either. So m actually happy with the kind of stuff hez doing. I don't like it when he does Telegu or Tamil, coz I don't understand it😆😆😆

However, if its about charm and x-factor then DQ scores much higher than Fahad and slightly more than Nivin (I really like Nivin too). I don't think Fahad is a looker, hez talented no doubt. No offence, but I need my eye candy.😆😆😆 M sure Fahad fans may beg to differ. I think DQ looks better than many South Indian actors.

Also, I gotta gush: Nivin in Bangalore Days and Om Shanti Oshana is to die for. I have seen OSO like 10 times. I cant help but watch the film whenever it is on TV and Asianet or Surya show it every Sunday. Nivin is cute. Nazriya and Nivin are😳

Absolutely agree.
DQ has a charming Of-screen personality which makes it impossible to not like him..But he is far from best when it comes to acting...Nivin and Fahad are far better actors esp Fahad who is considered as junior Mohanlal for his acting..And the best in South industry right now has to be Vijay sethupathi..
