Not quite. Ash definitely went through a phase of being shut out and blackballed by big names but by the time her and Abhishek started dating that was over. As a matter of fact and Abhisbek started dating on a movie set. I don't know when things changed for her. Maybe Devdas. Maybe her getting L'Oreal and exposure at Cannes and Bride and Prjudice. Maybe her near fatal accident on the set of Khakee. But by the time she got with Abhishek she was back on track. Honestly the Bachchan last name hasn't done a whole lot for her if anything at all.

Both Khakee and B&P were hits. As I said critical acclaim should account to. She was neither jobless or a flop. Even Kareena and Rani had fair share of flops. No one calls them flop actresses do they ?

Its not about being jobless.. Rather being a flop.. Big names were not coming to her and lets face it, she would not have survived with Raincoats and Chocker balis especially with her average acting.. I don't think Bachchan surname made her who she is but it did pull her up when she needed a boost

Gurindar Chaddha was a huge name after "Bend it Like Beckam." Raincoat and Chockar Bali themselves proved she is capable of far more than average acting. Shradha isn't working with big names. Neither is Rajkumar Rhao.

She played a negative character and did a more than Katrina in Akki films. I wouldn't say she was an ornament either.

Wese its not really surprising Ekta opts for nand bhabhi rivalry in her shows so much.. People seem to love the idea😆

There both still considered successful. Shradha had a string of successes like Aashiqui 2, Ek Villiam among other working with people who don't have as big of a name.

And the director must have seen something in Aish to caste her even after she had been blacklisted before she was a Bacchan Bahu. He has often said it was Aish's work in Hum Dil that convinced him she was ideal for both films. Again your free to have your own opinion. But to say she couldn't have survived off of those. She was approached by Mani Ratnam so many times too. Way before she became a big name or a Bacchan.

She was not dating Abhishek when she did Kuch Na Kaho or even when it released. In fact there have been stories of Salman storming the set of Kuch Na Kaho too. Her and Abhi started dating on the set of Umrao Jaan and then continued into Guru and Dhoom2. When she got Dhoon2 with YRF she might have just started dating Abhi or maybe even before that as movies are signed a while before shooting. Same with Jodha Akbar. These big films were offered to her before Abhishek. Media or certain section of Bollywood might not attack her now because she's a Bachchan bahu. But her career hasn't gained much. The only major change for her professional life is probably that she has a good equation with SRK again.
