Akshay's game is not to be on top and he never will be. His game is that of staying relevant and surviving which he does by finding his niche. First it was action, then comedy with Priyadarshan and finally now patriotic movies.

His movies don't get past a 120 cr or a 130 cr because Akki makes too many movies in an year...Even his fans are like...yaar kitni movie dekhein...ek khatam nahi hui...aur doosri lag gayi...that over exposure is there...U have to take into consideration that 4 movies in an and year and everyone of them making good money...that should tell u something about his stardom...ab SRK Salman...bhi roz paan ki dukaan per paan khaate hue mil jaayein...toh 2-3 din toh fan wahan darshan ke liye khade milenge...4th day sab gayab honge...ki ye toh roz yahin regte hain...there should be a little mystery...a little wait...for the stars...over exposure kills stardom.

He is far more consistent than the younger lot and even Salman and Ajay. He has a strong and loyal fanbase particularly in the North. Almost everything he does crosses 100 cr.

But I don't think he is some crazy big star and can't be clubbed with Khans. The biggest hits were all with Katrina. And Katrina definitely had a part there. I think him and Katrina together should do a film. Might give him a 150 cr hit finally.

His isn't in top tier but he is close. 😛

I have never in my life ever seen a person who is a fan of akshay Kumar! I have seen SRK fans, Salman fans, aamir fans, hrithik fans and Sanjay dutt fans in real life but never an akshay fan, so yes he is overrated according to me!
