ISLAMABAD: Election observers from the European Union have said that election 2018 was conducted better than the 2013 election.

The chief observer of the European Union Election Observation Mission to Pakistan, Michael Gahler, said that apart from a few incidents of terrorism, the overall situation of the general election was quite satisfactory.

Our observers have visited more than 300 polling station in 87 constituencies, we will release our preliminary report on Friday and a detailed report will be released later after assessing the overall situation, one can clearly see an improvement as compared to the previous election held in 2013, Gahler stated while talking to media.

He said the army adhered to the code of conduct very strictly.

A member of the team said they had been invited by the government to observe the elections. He said the procedure was smooth and peaceful and he saw many people coming to vote.

Polling was quite fair. There was security...u had to give ur ID card at gate. Then in booth all parties had their agents. Along with a security person. As we got the ballot polling officer shouted the name and party agents noted and cut the name from their records. Then we were asked to stamp and put it in boxes. Room had officers, security and polling agents

Most complaints are for delay in giving results. They introduced a RTS system to report direct compiled results fro stations to HEad quarters. That failed but that happened everywhere

Some results were not given to party agents on form 45 but on plain paper signed by officers which is not correct mehtod

These are things that caused suspicion but ECP says its just procedural issues as counting was done before that

Only place where establishment might have played role is in Karachi as political landscape has totally changed there.

PML Nawaz still got 65+ seats in this ...got most seats in Punjab. I mean it was not like it was white washed. Even where they lost they lost with close margins. got 10/14 seats in Lahore

Imran won because he made alliance with south punjab parties and won seats in faislabad etc where PMLN was unbetable. So Punjab did go 50-50 from 80-20

To the people crying about the form not being handed.
Sharif party people are circulating a signed form without the tally of votes. Meaning anyone can fill in any number of votes and call it valid. That form is supposed to be signed AFTER the number of votes has been written on it.
I looked at the form pic being circulated by sharif supporters and noted the region number and checked that region number result. Sharif party has won that particular area by 7000 votes lol now tell who is the pre signed forms helping.


Also the dig at overseas Pakistanis.
I have come back to Pakistan to vote with intent to stay. Meaning I have moved back to pak :) can't talk on anyone else's behalf. Travelled 6.5 hours jus to cast my vote

Fazi is a manipulator and if wiki leaks are believed he even offered himself as a moderate maulvi prime minister to US Lol

MMA alliance is not the extremist as in Taliban TTP ...they are just religious parties...anyway even they got 8 seats out of 270 i think

It was no brainer

Some other points

- India was not an issue

- I dont know why Indian media is so scared

- Relations will be same

- This means more for local than international'

- Army did not intervene as PSP and Jeep which were shown as army backed parties did not win a single seat

- Hafiz saeed party lost and did not get much votes

- Mainstream religious parties only got 12 seats. This is in so called extremist Pakistan.

The great Himmo voted but did not vote for PTI. Reason was his local leadership which is trash, Himmo voted for an educated person instead. Himmo knew it will be waste but I did what I thought was right

Overall I am okay with this change

But I am more of action than emotions. I am not the type that you see gulping gulab jamans on streets and doing bhangra witg shalwar and kameez flying all over. I think he will be better for sure but how much can he do? A good person also faces lot of bad people who want to put a country down. The battle has just started.

Still local people will get lots of good

Already he said he wont live in PM House and make GOvernor houses as guest house. Good poiint
