Unfortunately, I am one of those people who watched Sairat before watching this one. I say unfortunate, because there is no way you can watch Dhadak without comparing it to Sairat. Sairat is a masterpiece in that regard.

This is not to say that Dhadak is a bad movie but there is nothing path-breaking about it.

Just watched the film. I lovvved it. Direction and acting was very good. Ishan and Janhvi are my new favorite actors from now on. It's was so refreshing to see new faces act so well in their first film. Both of them deserve some awards this year for their sheer dedication. They did not take their acting lightly even though they are from a well known filmy background. I think this is the director's best movie till now. Sorry for comparing it with sanju but i have recently seen that so comparing but dhadak is way way better than even sanju. Ishan was flawless, janhvi suprised me. I don't want to even talk about any of their drawbacks which doesn't matter because their acting was better than even many of our current veterans. So spontaneous, varied emotions. Perfect launch for these two. I'm sure who ever watches the movie will not hate it. If you do.. you are either lying, want to unnecessarily pull them down coz you are mad fan of sairat's actors. Dhadak actually is different. I wouldn't call it a remake. It's just an adaptation. It's treated differently for obvious reasons (dharma's commercial movie stap) but it's still effective and engrossing. I loved the first half but contrary to many people i liked the 2nd half as well. Very nice acting, editing, direction. Songs are also nice. Not boring at all. So yep! Loved it :)

If the film does well and Jahnvi gets good reviews (or even decent reviews), she will be hailed as the next big thing. A star kid delivering a decent performance in her first film is equivalent to an outsider pulling off a Joker on debut (Alia in Highway for example😆). Am more curious to see what KJo does after this and if the film is successful, how he divides films between Jahnvi and Alia🤣

"Nepotism debate be damned".. according to Anupama Chopra.. They were both decent in the opportunity thrown into their lap.. That's why we shouldn't resent opportunities being deprived from potential Vidya Balans, or Priyanks or someone with screen presence of Shahrukh.

I do feel critics are occasionally bias towards star kids as well.

As i watched sairat before automatically i started compare between two film:( and i find sairat obviously far more better..though i wanted dhadak to win :/ but still dhadak is good one.i like it

I want to talk about a few scenes that stood out for me

Stop reading now below are some spoilers:


1. End of Pehli Baar when Ishaan is in the pool and Janhvi says get out, the way they looked at each other my god... electrifying chemistry

2. First time Ishaan was on Janhvi's balcony - this is where she looked like sri a lot

3. When Janhvi yells at the teacher who was trying to ask her where her attention is hahaha so funny

4. Janvhi's gun scene where she saves Ishaan

5. When Ishaan gets jealous of Janhvi's chaat eating - probably his best acting in the entire movie.

6. Their reunion after the slap and delivery of the dialogues were epic.

7. When Ishaan insults Janhvi in front of his friends - her expressions were so on point

8. Both of Janvhi's breakdown scenes

9. Ishaans phonecall to his dad. Very well enacted

10. When Ishaan enters his home and sees Janvhi's family sitting and there an awkward 10-15 seconds Hahahaha probably the funniest scene for me.
