Watched the movie in a not so packed movie hall. The movie is decent one time watch but I wished they added more granularity to the scenes. Spoilers ahead

Not sure how parthvi and madhu fall in love? They were shown liking each other from the first scene itself. A bit of background of their romance would have done wonders.

Ashutosh Rana is a hugely talented actor, but his role as a villain was for namesake. He hardly instilled any fear and didn't make much impact. There was no detailing of his win and loss, action or reaction to the elopement or love of his Daughter.

There was absolutely no struggle shown once the couple eloped. It all looked so smooth for the junior college students to elope, get job, buy house etc. Why would parthvi or madhu contact their parents when all went great for them.

For me, the movie failed to do much coz of lack of details due to which I couldn't connect to the movie. And yes, haven't watched Sairat so there were no expectations beforehand.

Loved Jhanvi in this movie. She is going to have a great future in Bollywood as she has the right skills for it.

Spoilers

Dhadak is an incredibly well made movie. As a viewer, for me, its important that the movie does not bore me and it does not even for a second. Not even the second half. Truth be told, this is my favourite movie of the year after Raazi.
Shashank got a lot of brickbats on this forum and just for the direction, I think he handled it very well.

Comparisons with Sairat - I have watched Sairat and loved it, but I dont think it was the most pathbreaking movie in Marathi cinema purely on the script, there are many others which deserve that credit in Marathi industry, but the music of the movie, paired with explosive acting and raw and gritty treatment of the subject was what made it special. Dhadak on its own, has done well enough and has done justice to the story it wanted to tell.

Dhadak does stand tall, because of the ending. It is shocking and somewhat more disturbing. The whole part that was muted, I saw the audience gasping and clasping their mouth, almost everyone of them.

I definitely want a sequel titled as - "Sabka badla legi Parthvi!"

JHANVI KAPOOR has simply surprised me, she has an arresting screen presence and she was marvelous in the intense scenes..it was obviously not a perfect performance, but she is a lambi race ka ghoda..she has started her career with a BANG..!👏

Ishaan is a wonderful talent, he seamlessly fit into the role, but I still feel unsure about his future😕

Ashutosh Rana never disappoints and he is just right for this part.

+++++++++++++++++
Goddamn that ENDING!😭 I was an ardent admirer of Archie, but what happens in Dhadak has literally shook me to the core.

I WANT A SEQUEL!

Watched the movie & liked it. It's a nice one time watch.
Coming to performances, I liked both Ishaan and Janhvi . For their debut film, they were amazing! And Jhanvi pleasantly surprised me! From the promos it dint look like she could act so well! Wish Sridevi was alive to see her daughter making them so proud!
Ishaan is very natural on screen. Though I think Jhanvi had a better role in this one.

The ending ! </3

@Bold: I think they have shown enough struggle for two people who have suddenly been thrown out of their happy space...Not every couple has to go through hell just because they eloped and went against their parents...It just shows both Madhu&Parthavi are two educated and intelligent people who are able to quickly adapt to the changes in their lives and thrive...Luckily they also have got help first from Madhu's mama and then from the landlord in Calcutta...Also there is a lot of in between the lines like how Parthavi had to make do with the public toilets and wash clothes and even help a neighbor dry her clothes...

I so agree about Janhvi...I also didn't like her that much in the trailers but I decided to keep an open mind and surprisingly I came out of the theater liking her equally if not more than Ishaan...

About Ishaan's role in the movie, I watched Sairat and I think Madhu's role is still better and much more stronger than Parshya of Sairat...Parshya had literally no role in the first half of Sairat and even in second half the narrative was only from Archi's side...In Dhadak I felt they managed to fairly balance both the characters, though Parthavi's role has a slight edge overall!

I'm glad people are on the same page with me about Ishaan.

I think he's amazing but I don't know what the future holds for him. For example I can't see him as an action hero or masala hero. He doesn't have the presence for that

He can only work with like 2-3 actresses.

I feel like he has debuted too early... this is where Janhvi has an advantage she's really young but I can easily see her work even with Ranbir or Ranveer

Dhadak showed good growth on Sunday. As per data we have received, film had a growth of over 40% from Friday. Film has collected 8.50 Cr & 10.50 Cr on Friday & Saturday respectively. Early trend suggests a 12 Cr+ Collection on Sunday. So Dhadak is heading towards 30 Cr+ Weekend, which will be very good for a newcomers film.

Screens Size & number of shows is enough to go past 50 Cr Mark In week one. Film has got good momentum on Sunday, as family audiences seems to back on theatre. Film off to a good start in morning Shows & shows Upward Trend from noon Shows. In evening shows, many housefull shows have been registered. Night shows reports are still Awaited, though Advance Booking looks good in late night shows.

As per circuit is concerned, Unlike previous days, Today Film had an healthy occupancy in East Punjab & Delhi. As usual Mumbai, CP, Nizam, West Bengal is the top performer of the film. Words of mouth is good enough to score big at the box office window. Though we have to wait until it passes the Monday litmus test.
