She may have said it in her recent LLL foundation event and journos made it 2+2=5,
But she made the right noise. We need to break the myth.

Most of us don't even realise if we are suffering from depression.

Hmmm...so lets see..how do i explain this in clear word. Lemme try to break it down for people so they can REALLY understand this. 🥱
Lets break it down into two parts

Firstly luxury

luxury
lkSH()r,lZH()r/
    • an inessential, desirable item that is expensive or difficult to obtain

Now that we have understood the meaning of "luxury" we can move on to the part that it is not AFFORDABLE for everyone. Do you think a common person would have the means to get treated for a symptom that might have at this point become a part of his personality and his life? Paying for all these medicines when he can barely pay for other things? Or how about the fact that the medicines turn people into zombies for a while where their personality is affected. Or how about the fact that they medicines cause serve drowsiness that may limit the ability of people to go about their normal work life? Hence depression is a LUXURY that cannot be afforded by everyone. They are best left with cognitive behavioral therapy.

People who commit suicide are SUICIDAL their form of depression is worse off and requires hospitalization. At this point its not merely "depression" but is a full blown psychiatric emergency. These people have Shiziod personalities or are bi-polar or schizophrenic. BUT here we are talking about depression. 🥱

Now secondly lets come to DP. So my sincere apologies but i DO NOT trust her and her motives. So YES i think she is trying to use it for personal gains. There is no use arguing me over that.

So yeah...i guess that should be it. You are welcome to come for me again cuz i am sure as hell NOT backing down. 🥱

Poor people have no time to diagnose or treat themselves if they suffer from depression. Its a rich people fad to have a shrink and to be "labeled" as something so that they can stand apart from others and have something to discuss at parties.

Congratulations on winning ' The most ignorant comment of the day.'

Look up medical depression. It's a real illness that is caused by chemical imbalance. A 'shrink' doesn't treat depression, doctors and medicine does.

^ That is some seriously twisted and convenient explanation. Just because people cannot afford to be treated, depression itself becomes a luxury? Mujhe hamesha lagta tha ki Salman Kya sochke bakwas karta hai, I've got my answer.

Awww...thanks 😳 I am winning.

A "shrink" is a psychiatrist, the word is not exclusive for psychologists (some of whom can also prescribe medicines). And he has to evaluate you first before putting you on meds or SSRIs (see i know how chemicals in the brain work). So yeah there is the whole sofa-chair evaluation involved even if you are on drugs at your every visit.

It is hilarious that IFians cannot grasp simple context.
Depressed is not always equals to depression, as the word is also used by layman to describe stress, and even it did in Sallu Sallu was not talking about his economic or social status. He was talking about himself as an individual does not have luxury of being emotional or sad or depressed, because he feels they always came back to him. Yes we can laugh at him for being a hypocrite as he can do the biggest crime and get away, so why would he ever be depressed. But here bashing Sallu because you apparently took his statement equal to him saying depression is luxury disease as the actual context here is he was talking he as an individual does not have any luxury to be sad or emotinal or depressed.
He is not trivialising depression, he is just talking about his situation, like we say, "I dont have the luxury of being in love", does not mean I am saying love is rich people issue but that me as a person cannot afford to be loved because I am in a situation, where that is not feasible.
I thinking bashing Sallu here for that thing is bashing him for the sake of bashing, instead of him ridiculing depression.

Also I don't think Deepika is talking about Sallu and I doubt that article is even based on recent sentences.
That site deccan whatever is a hilariously bad site btw.

So how does one know that a celebrity is truly suffering from depression?
If bhai comes forward we might jump and say, he deserves it , or he is faking it, or he is abusing word depression

No one will ever believe him, so maybe If he says he doesn't have the luxury of being depressed, I think it is believable

It is a serious disease but it can also be abused by some

I have come across ppl abusing g depression. They go to doctors and have them write a long report for them and they get months off from work, and they end up in Mexico!

"I see a lot of people going on vacations, but I cannot afford that luxury of taking a vacation. I see a lot of people getting depressed and emotional, but I can't afford that luxury of being depressed or sad or emotional because no matter what I am going through, it works against me, he said.

The "Tiger Zinda Hai star said an actor's life does not have any "sub-titles to show what he is going through at any stage of his life

salman khan

"My profession is such that I have to look good, dress up well, do stylised action sequences and romance. My articles come on affairs, me working with beautiful heroines and then suddenly a court date comes up... people see me on Bigg Boss' in which I am laughing and joking, said the reality show's host.

"So, people think that he doesn't give a damn about things. That is the most difficult part about our journey as actors. No matter what you are going through at your home or your personal life, you can't have sub-titles there. You have to be that character, no matter what you are going through, you have to forget that and you have to focus on your craft, he added.
