She carved her own image by her own actions and no one is responsible for how she is perceived now. Kinda like how people have made up their minds here about Sridevi and are no willing to let go. And NO in our part of the world no one is going to come out and be treated for depression because for one no one can "afford" such ailments (hence a luxury) and plus no one feels like there is something wrong with them and function like its a normal part of their lives.

How stupid some times people sound.

Even depression is labeled as something to talk based on the celebrity people like. How sad such a serious issue is getting mocked.

I dont know whether the reason is lack of awareness or just the stupidity to see the world through Bollywood and actors they like. Either way, its a sad case.

So you should know well that depression is not a rich people fad or a luxury of some sort, it affects people across gender and class divisions.. her foundation is working to help people who don't have resources through community mental health programmes and medicine, it's not fair to label as a topic for her to discuss at parties when she is also trying to help those less fortunate than her.

Which is why awareness is required. Dp took a step in that direction for whatever reason, but she took it and doesnt deserve to be called publicity hungry for it.

Depression is not a luxury, can happen to anyone and ppl succumb to it because of lack of awareness. In almost every govt tertiary care hospital, there is a psychiatric wing. If ppl cannot afford treatment in pvt, can go there to seek treatment and come out of it. Stop making a mockery of this illness, especially since ur a doctor.

This is not about deepika or an actress. It is about raising awareness for an issue that has been swept under the rug for so long in our society. People going to shrinks or therapists have been laughed at or mocked. I don't know if deepika had depression but I do know that what Salman said was not correct and honestly does more harm than good
