#RAID collects 6.26 CR on first Monday making the total collection 47.27 CR.
Raid has had a strong on Monday as collections come in higher than the early estimates of yesterday. The film has collected 6.25 crore nett on Monday which puts the film in a solid position. Anything over 6 crore nett would have been a good result and the film has gone above the 6 crore nett mark. The drop is around 35% from day one..
The collections are very strong in UP and Bihar with drops of just 20% from the first day. The total collections of the film so far are 46 crore nett and the first week should go to around 62 crore nett. Still the eighth day here is crucial and will tell if the film emerges a HIT or not but Monday is good enough to confirm that the film is at least a success.
The first weekend collections of Raid are as follows
Friday - 9,75,00,000 apprx
Saturday - 13,25,00,000 apprx
Sunday - 16,75,00,000 apprx
Monday - 6,25,00,000 apprx
TOTAL - 46,00,00,000 apprx
The film started a little lower than Pad Man on Friday but is around 60-70 lakhs nett ahead on Monday and although Padman had partial holidays it could be that Raid could match the weekday collections of Pad Man or even be a little better.
Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruzs Raid was not only been loved by the audience, but it even raked in the mollah over the first weekend. But after collecting Rs 41.01 crore over the opening weekend, looks like the movie has seen a massive dip on day 4 (first Monday). Being a working day, we obviously expected it to see a downward trend, however, we did not expect such a substantial drop. Raid managed to collect only Rs 6.26 crore on day 4, to take its overall box office tally to slightly more than Rs 47.27 crore. Talking about the detailed breakdown of collections, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed to us on Twitter, "#Raid is SUPER-STRONG on Mon. An indicator that the film will sustain very well on weekdays. Current trending suggests Rs 64 crore [+/-] Week 1, which is EXCELLENT for a non-masala film. Fri Rs 10.04 crore, Sat Rs 13.86 crore, Sun Rs 17.11 crore, Mon Rs 6.26 crore. Total: Rs 47.27 crore. India biz.
But even though Raid has seen such a dip, the film has collected a decent amount till now. In fact, with a low production cost, the movie will surely be in profit pretty soon. All this has been possible because of the fact that Raid is such a fantastic movie. Not only is the content and storyline so good, but the execution and performances are also amazing. The audience and critics gave it a thumbs up, giving rise to a fantastic word of mouth publicity, which in turn helped the movie rake in such a large amount. In fact, our film critic, Ankita Chaurasia had also mentioned in her review, "Raid keeps you riveted throughout. You are always kept guessing as to what will happen next, which is a great thing for a film like this.
