Just saw this news on padman challenge. Everyone posting with a pad.

I mean do every thing needs to be so open?

I understand that there is some message in the movie but it could be given through the movie..what is this disgusting idea of everyone posting with a pad. Not everything needs to come out like that..fine there is a taboo and u r trying to break that but was movie not enough? do they have to go the extreme with everyone posing with a pad

what next...underwear challenge...everyone posting with their underwears

no its not me.

what a stupid idea. trying to be smart.

Why would you think that an unused pad is disgusting ?
This very thread gives validation to such a campaign imo. Because if someone like you who use the Internet and is quite aware of what's happening has this kind of questions and reluctance regarding menstruations, what is it like in rural areas ?

Sometimes one has to "shock" to raise awareness as to open the dialogue.

Unused pad when u keep.ot open might attract microbes, dust etcetera. The reason i use pads that come in individual packs ..fear of contamination is always there. Once u open it it's wasted. They should instead distribute pads in schools

They did distribute pads. But raising awareness and fighting the taboos is as important.

Also who told you they would use the pad they use for the pic ?

The very fact that people think of menstruation and pads as disgusting is enough to justify this campaign.

People need to stop with this : there is nothing disgusting with it and girls should not feel ashamed.

If they are ashamed of the very thought of period and pads, how can we expect them to voice their needs or their issues when it comes to their menstruations ?

I really wonder and I hope I am not being rude but do you guys have classes about menstruation in school ?

My little bother is 15 and couple of days I made him review his course on menstruation and procreation for his test and he didn't feel embarassed or awkward at all.

It's important to start the awarness at a young age : it's the best way to break the stigma.
