How do you tackle taboo topics without explicitly talking about them? The 'in your face' attitude is the only way to get over regressiven behavior, and that's exactly what they are trying to do.

It's not that big a deal there was the ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for ALS why didn't you protest against it? Just because it's about women it should be mocked? Menstural hygiene is an important issue which ultimately affects women's health and life and ultimately a child's life PID is a common cause for spontaneous abortions which can lead to many complications and increase the maternal mortality rate and if a simple measure and a little awareness can prevent it then what's wrong with it? My only concern is that it shouldnt be just limited towards the promotion of a movie and then be done with it later.

My issue is the Waste of pads if they are just opening them to take selfies.
A lot of these celebs seem to do these things so they can pat each other on the back when it is not really ground breaking what they are doing.

Considering how much money they earn you would think buying a crate of pads and donating them would be much more effective.

I think the Padman challenge should be two-fold esp considering alot of well-off BW people are particpating. Pose with it to reduce stigma, but also donate pads/tampons etc to places that distribute them to the underserved.

While this surely helps open discussion around a taboo topic, it still does nothing for those who cannot afford to buy these pads. IDK about India, but in the US they're pretty pricey, but what can you do, you need em. Buy a pack or two and donate, they surely have the $$ to do it!

I find it stupid. Not every thing which is not discussed openly isn't something we r ashamed of and dont people buy pads at stores.? Thats why they r sold in first place. This film isn't introducing first pad in India. It's just narrating the story of who introduced it.

When I was in school, I remember one of our teacher made us manipulate pads, tampon, condoms and other contraceptive stuff... I am sure he wasn't endorsing wastage but it was a necessity for us to get familiar with these things.

And it's important for people to get familiar with pads even if it involves 'waste' because the outcomes will be positive.

Women are equal to men in all ways that's why we need more of them in the workforce by any means. And still they needed men to make pads for them. Lol.
