They were a married couple. Whatever couple of films she did as a lead, were all produced by him. Booking a room, was his way of making sure that these two break the ice and are more comfortable with each other. I think those times, people from content movie industry were open for such preparation for the roles. Maya memsahab was a content driven movie as well.
