I liked it...
just didn't like the cartoonish villians the loan sharks in the film. why are they always in black suits and showcased as typical stereotypes..also the bank robberies were illogical apart from it I liked it...kangana was simply outstanding.

it's indeed one of the better films of the year

I wish they had chosen a thriller mode for this film i know it would have failed otherwise but that had been better. but anyways. the film is good n engaging in parts and not so in otherwise.
i liked the part of her fiancee, her gujrati father was amazing...his act was brilliant.like someone said the robberies didn't look convincing and I agree on that.

I'm actually commenting here as this is one film I had expected a lot. not saying i'm disappointed but it could have been better. still I will rank this film high above on many films released this year.

although m not saying that simran is perfect, it definitely has flaws, they were trying to inject too much comedy into the plotline which is otherwise a serious film..even the climax is meant to give u laughs but ultimately it should have worked as a thriller instead - the original script written by Apurva Asrani..but then again thrillers don't work esp as women centric n that too a flawed character...

They? They didn't.

But Kangana did. She took up Apoorva's script and tried making it into light-hearted comedy from Serious thriller. [This is from horse's mouth herself. She said so in many interviews]

She ruined someone's script and ruined a movie too. And she sucked as Gujarati Patel. So that is there.

Simran didn't deserve any appreciation coz it's a garbage movie.

Simran was miles ahead of Tumhari Sulu. I didn't like TS that much and IMO it benefited from no movie release to get to an average status.

It "deserved"? The movie was so half-baked and was rightfully rejected by the audience

i could have agreed with u but by the time ur post ended it clearly looks like a KR hater post, and sorry to say my post was made towards people who could actually understand the movie in process...

anyways coming to topic as much as I agree that It could be a thriller but saying KR ruined Apurva's script is simply baseless reason is simple..the topic they had chosen for a thriller was itself niche. a woman who lives in america, divorced, gambler, had issues with family there is nothing an average indian movie would relate to it..the movie would have washed on 1st day itself and got listed in lots of those forgettable smaller films we don't even know. she did right to infuse humor to make it entertaining. otherwise it wouldn't have been refreshing. Simran has received appreciation. most of the critics may not have been very happy with it but not bitter either. its just that film could gain more appreciation but that's a personal opinion.

secondly, let's not cry rivers on apurva's script. bollywood has seen biopics of bhagat singh - 3 different films on the same story releasing on the same friday. so if he is really proud of his script he should contact some other producer and then we can really decide if his script was really mindblowing..
