for a moment please forget this film was about kangana ranaut n her controversies...and primarily see this film just as a film. I missed this film in theaters I really wanted to watch but couldn't but last night I watched it finally when a friend told me she loved it...
I have to say I just loved the film..2 things here this is a highly unconventional and bold subject picked by filmmakers to choose a protagonist which is flawed n secondly they don't have to glorify what she does..

its pretty much sad that ppl just want to judge this film as a sole kangana ranaut's show but for me i didn't watch it as a KR movie I was watching the movie of a real life Sandeep Kaur who was bold, fierce, educated and a totally flawed woman but she has a story to tell...and after the film wrapped up I googled her and found her life story in brief here...

Sandeep kaur on which film is based

although m not saying that simran is perfect, it definitely has flaws, they were trying to inject too much comedy into the plotline which is otherwise a serious film..even the climax is meant to give u laughs but ultimately it should have worked as a thriller instead - the original script written by Apurva Asrani..but then again thrillers don't work esp as women centric n that too a flawed character...

The songs is Simran are so good : Sachin Jigar r fantastic...no idea why the songs could not do well, pinjara tod ke, meet they all are good songs..this is ironic that a good effort plagued by controversies and all unnecessary stuff. Simran was a fine attempt, I m sure if not a box office success, this movie shall definitely become a cult. ppl will appreciate it in times to come..it was a unique plotline that bollywood doesn't offer otherwise

admist between kangana's controversies the story was lost and media was only interesting covering her leading to no buzz for the film and it costed it..well word of mouth wasn't great either but this was definitely a unique film I can say. they could hv made this film a path breaking cinema but they added too much entertainment quotient..

what is so path-breaking about showing a flawed character as protagonist..this is not early 2000s anymore..this has happened so so many times
PC in fashion..Kareena in Heroine..VB in TDP..PC in 7 khoon..they were all flawed characters as protagonists

while kangana was brilliant..the movie was a drag..and the climax was so stretched and abrupt..

overall..i feel it gor what it deserved.

if the story's real good...any plot can become path breaking..it's just the matter of acceptance nothing else

See i think..this is the kind of film that would definitely meet polarized reactions..I watched the film I can't rate it 10/10 but its different but then again, its all about acceptance, if it had been a HIT it would be applauded but after finishing it, its pretty much evident that it's not going to work commercially.

It's was poorly executed and story was crap

People hype anything these days. Simran was shittiest film this year along with Ok Jaanu, Half Girlfriend, Baadshaho and Rangoon

Simran was a pile of garbage, completely ruined by the actress's delusions of being a jack of all trades and a master of none, except lying.
