Interesting to read all you views without any arguements in between 😆 ..or maybe there was a bit of cat fighting 😆

Well, Khans were there to rule in the 90's...now in the 21st century, more talented actors have begun to shine such as Hritick Roshan! How can we forget Rohit in Kaho na pyar hain or Krishna in Krrish or Aryan in Dhoom 2. Becoming the highest paid actor of Bollywood means something right?

After a long innings in the film industry, people have started to see and appreciate the talent in Akshay Kumar! He is a multi-talented man!

Although Abhishek Bachchan having the name tag of being a bachchan, he has also shown that he could be the next Superstar 😃

In conclusion, Bollywood can and will survive without the Khan's.

Lets not forget on a more serious note that there are the real "don's" in the Indian film industry which should also be acknowledged of the sudden rise of the Khan's

I think Khan fans should stop harping about them ruling Bollywood and actually spend time and money to watch their movies then the point will be proven without saying anything..

Ha Ha Ha. This is the funniest post I have read in the entire thread. You summed it all by this statement.👍🏼. Might I also add Swadesh, Ashoka, Hum Tumhare hain Sanam, Baadshah, Duplicate, 1 2 ka 4, and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani to this so called list of hits.😆

Today Bollywood is way more competitive and everyone needs to outdo each other.. had srk or the other khans debuted today, they wouldn't be successful as they were in the 80's/90's..

Thanks. I also want to add that when I speak of Aamir Khan as being a great actor, I speak of Aamir Kahan post Sarfarosh. I personally don't even care about any of his movies pre Srafarosh except QSQT and found him to be very average.😕. Since Sarfarosh he has worked so hard on reinventing himself in every role that he has played. He realized that age will soon catch up so it was important to break away from the trap of getting caught up in superstardom. 👏Wheraeas actors like SRK to a greater degree and Salman to some dgree have worked more on hype and building a mass base by doing concerts, out of the three Khans it is only Aamir who depends on his talent and talent alone for success. For me the Numero uno could easily be shared between Hritik and Aamir, men of alike temperaments.😃

I know what you mean. Maybe Aamir should try doing a project like Ganga (a low budget Bhojpuri Movie) which Big B did free of cost and the Great Bachchan's performance in the movie has come for a lot of acclaim and praise.

Actually it is a different story in Hollywood though. You have Johnny Depp who is a mega superstar who has recently fetaured in movies like Pirates of the Carribean (historical hit), and Charlie and the Chocolate factory (huge hit) doing a small timer role around the same period in a low budget french movie called Chocolat. It is the same story with Merryl Streep. In her hey day as an extremely succesful Hollywood actress she has done a lot of low budget movies in her own dialect which is English movies. 😆

I mean he asks for huge amount of money, which is fine. But doesn't that restrict him from doing movies by indie producers and directors?? The way he hikes his price means only big banners and big productions will be able to afford him, and these people make movies to make money..

I would respect him a lot more if he did a movie for personal satisfaction too.

I beg to differ😊...Aamir is doing a movie based on the plight of the farmers who commit suicide when their harvest isnt satisfactory..He was almost at the verge of doing a movie Mrs Mehta and Mr.Singh with Vishal Bharadwaj, the maker of Omkara, most of the directors Aamir works with are rank new commers/unknown directors...Sarfarosh was John Mathian's debut film,Lagaan was Asuthosh Gowariker's debut film,Rakeysh Mehra was a flop director before RDB happened, infact RDB was made only because Aamir Khan supported the project, and we ended getting a masterpeice..Dil Chahta hai was Farhan Akhthar's debut project, everyone from Hrithik,to Abhishek had refused DCH as they werent sure about working with Farhan..And Aamir's forthcoming projects Tare Zameen pe,KAjri and the film on farmers are with a painter turned director,a director of regional films and a journalist turned director respectively...Which other actor bankrolls unconventional themes and works with debut directors....Regarding the prices,Why shouldnt he charge 4-5 crores from a company like UTV which produced RDB and from Yashraj for Fanaa, there is no dearth of money with YashRAj or UTV...He isnt a charity actor, for that matter which actor is a charity actor thse days...and barring Aamir, which leading actor does unorthodox and avant garde cinema....,...If payment is the issue,he goes ahead and produces the film,(Lagaan,Tare Zameen Par,Kakri)...From the looks of it,I'm sure he gives paramount importance to the script, and not to the money

Besides,I dont remember reading Ash did Raincoat and chokker bali for free or for less money...😕

Okay by the same token the solo credit of K3G's success does not go to SRK also. Can I also ask a converse question? What was Rakesh Roshan's level as a director before Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. I don't think that he was even considered a top league director at that point. He had a bunch of flops before Kaho Na Pyar Hai. Koyla, King Uncle, Karobar, Khel, Kala bazaar (okay granted that Karan Arjun was a super hit). Overall see his inconsistent record as a director. Ever since casting Hritk in Kaho Na Pyaar hai, every movie of his has been a Super Hit to a Block Buster. The credit definitely does go to Hritk Roshan as much as to Rakesh Roshan for contributing to the success of these films. Hritik was to Rakesh Roshan what SRK became to Yash Chopra post DDLJ. Prior to DDLJ, YRF was going thorugh a lean phase with quiet a few films flopping- Lamhe, Vijay, Mashaal etc.

I would call all these three movies of Hritik solo hits which he has delivered regardless of which banner. I have yet to see any contemporary actor of Hritiks' generation even deliver one solo super hit- hit leave alone a blockbuster. Dhoom may be a franchise again but D1 was just a hit. Look at the storm that Hritik created with D2. It is on the verge of becoming an All time Blockbuster. He experimented with a theme like Laskhya, and although the film was bad, Hritik's performance won him a lot of critcal acclaim and honours. I would not even mention Hritik in the same breadth as Abhishek (yet to deliver a solo), or Shahid Kapoor, and other contemporary actors. I am absolutely sure that Jodha Akbar will do well because I am absoulutly sure that Hritik the actor will give it his best shot.

Dont forget Dhoom 2 was not from his father's production

And if you can say hritick is nothing without his father then Srk is nothing without the Chopra's and Johars, as nearly all his hits have came from those 2 production houses.

Ofcourse im not a khan hater, as i had loved Salman's hum apke hain kaun, Srk's KKHT, K3G, Kal ho na ho etc, i also like the work Amir does. Very different from normal actors. Lagaan, Rang de basanti👏

Saif, who had a bad start to his career has now delieverd works like Hum Tum, parineeta, Salaam namaste, being Cyrus and Omkara...with all portraying very different role's

Lastly Dhoom 2 is a massive blockbuster without a Khan in sight😆

well the only person who looks good enuf to dethrone the khans is Hrithik.....he hasn't got there yet thgh----but he's the only one I'd put my bets on to get to the top spot....

Ofcourse, overcoming some1 like Aamir and even Saif for tht matter is a lot harder coz they both r very versatile. Overcoming SRK's star power is not an easy task....in the country I live, SRK equals indian cinema.
Salman is not doing too well nowadays so no comment on him!

Abhi is another candidate.....but he's yet to deliver a solo hit.....as for John----as much as I LOVE LVOE LOVE john I don't think he can really get to the point where he can create the same aura tht a SRK, Aamir Saif or sallu create!
