Padmavati:Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan express concern over threats

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati has been riddled with controversies from the get-go.

A few days ago, Bhansali and Deepika Padukone; who plays the titular character of Rani Padmini, received threats that they will behead the director and chop of the actress' nose. The people who threatened these two even announced that they will offer Rs. 5 crore to anyone who does that.

Many Bollywood celebrities have come out in support of the Deepika, Bhansali and Padmavati and these include Aamir Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, according to a leading daily.

When Deepika's co-star Shahid Kapoor was asked about the same at IFFI 2017, the actor stated, "Any kind of conversation which is violent in nature is not nice. It is not in good taste. I think it is absolutely uncalled for and unfortunate."

Meanwhile, Padmavati, which also stars Ranveer Singh was originally supposed to release on December 1, 2017, but has now been postponed to an indefinite date.

Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio behind Padmavati released a statement saying that they have voluntarily decided to postpone the release date.

The official statement reads, "Viacom18 Motion Pictures, the studio behind Padmavati' has voluntarily deferred the release date of the film from December 1st, 2017. Along with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, amongst the most gifted filmmakers of his generation, Viacom18 Motion Pictures has created a beautiful cinematic masterpiece in Padmavati' that captures Rajput valour, dignity and tradition in all its glory. The film is an eloquent portrayal of a tale that will fill every Indian with pride and showcase our country's story-telling prowess across the globe. We are a responsible, law-abiding corporate citizen and have the highest respect and regard for the law of the land and all our institutions and statutory bodies including the Central Board of Film Certification. We always have and are committed to continue following the established procedure and convention. We have faith that we will soon obtain the requisite clearances to release the film. We will announce the revised release date of the film in due course. We stand firm in our commitment to tell endearing tales that resonate with our audiences the world over as we have in the past with our other projects such as Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', Queen', Bhaag Milkha Bhaag' and many more."

The situation is already too problematic and it would turn into some crazy Hindu/Muslim angle if the Khans got involved. They also have their own problems with all the antinational and deshdrohi stuff.

Anyone trying to drag them into this isn't right.
