Tell me was there a vote taken of all Rajputs proclaiming her a Goddess. Was she revered before SLB's movie. Is there a fund created by Rajputs which spends money on yearly Padmavati celebrations. Has Govt. recognized her as a "faith".

Now if tomorrow people say Ram Rahim is God and don't mock him, will it be fair. Did we not have enough of this blind bhakti recently?

Padmavati is a movie. All movies come with disclaimer mentioning that content shouldn't be taken as fact. It ran for movies like Neerja too. Why does SLB and DP need to give further proof of it being fictional when the subject is taken from a poem. I have not seen either of them stating that it is fact-by-fact film. It's a feature film with fictional characters like most historicals.

Padmini is not mentioned by anyone before Jayasi wrote his poem Padmavat. Amir Khusrau, who was a contemporary of Khilji, is the earliest source we have for the invasion of Chittorgarh, he mentions no Padmini. In a nutshell, Padmini is neither mentioned in the Rajput historical records, nor the Muslim records, before Jayasi.

After Jayasi composed his epic poem, there were many subsequent adaptations, the Rajputs also adapted it, one famous version of the tale known as Hemratan's Gora Badal Padmini Chaupai, presented the tale as history, and became the basis of present day folklore.
