people are saying that first let Padmavati release and then protest if u find something wrong or offensive...or simply ignore as no-one is being forced to watch the film...

the question is - if we know someone is a repeat offender who is likely to offend the dignity of a someone revered then would u wait for the cheer-haran (stripping of dignity) to happen and then take action or will u proactively protest so that such thing doesn't happen, in the very first place...or will you just close ur eyes and ignore since you are not the one who's personally being affected...

Ofcourse SLB is untrustworthy. He already destroyed depiction of Bengali culture through Devdas and Gujrati culture through HDDCS and Ram Leela. Also BM he completely destroyed Peshwa Bajirao but the Marathis seem peace loving people who swallowed it. But it should not be allowed to happen again and again. So I will protest now itself and make sure the film doesnt release if he hasnt followed history. Already we got a sample of distortion of history in Ghoomar song.

the rajputs are not closing their eyes and instead protesting...because one of their own is being affected here...i guess most people will hardly close their eyes and ignore when they or someone of their own is affected or assaulted...

The right wing Government has has set up the Censor Board. If they passes then there should not be any issue in watching the film..Besides makers are many times said that there is no such sequence which can STRIP off some communities dignity. Then why the hullabaloo? This is not closing the eyes but this is overreaction and over functioning of brain without even seeing the film..

Besides I dont live Hindi heartland.. In my literature I have read enough interpretations by renowned authors (even by the nobel laureate) of our epics. Those books are still best sellers and the Gods are still worshiped as they were... A movie or a book doesn't change anything so getting so much worked up over a piece of art is actually useless in the end when we have sooo many other pressing issues to deal with

NP, I am of the opinion of "live and let live" ..Rajput tradition or their identity or their pride can never be weakened by a movie 😊 There are peaceful things they can do for their community than protest so violently over a movie.

I am all for protests, but without violence or breach of law and order. They can boycott, protest and even hold deliberations with filmmakers, or people in general. But this violent means, the threats and all are quite undemocratic and uncivil.

Let them make their voice heard, people will decide for themselves if Rani Padmini's portrayal was comprised in character/dignity/etc.

PS -- I haven't been following the issue closely, but, as far as my knowledge goes, there are ways and means of doing things.
