History doesnt know but only gives diferent account , padmavti didnt exist.
As far as ratan singh is concerned most historians belives he was defeated but pardoned by khlji and made to move from the palace to othrr city.
Some believes he left from the battlefield as coward.
A couple of them believe he fought till end.

Basically all options.

Khilji made his son administrator and came back to delhi.
Chittorgarh was renamed as khizrabad.

Also, NB, should we authenticate Rajputani history too? I mean so many poems, books are written about them with zero protest even though they have nothing to do with facts. Especially the British angle and their association with Mughals. Wonder how this Sena would react to their own true history?

All this tale still is part of folklore tale there is no proof of Queen Padmini. I can bet if asked those protesting won't present a single conclusive proof of her existence even. She is popular because of epic poem called Padmavat written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. That poem is the basis of "existence". 😆

Okkk 😆...did her husband exist then or is he also fictional ? was he kiled by khilji or one of his own another rajput king ?

I was wondering if slb sticks to this bold part of history and shows it like that only would that be alright with rajputs or would there be more protest 😆

If slb shows khilji killed by ratan singh won't that be so called distortion of history 😆

All rajsthanis are idiots who know nothing about their history and culture.
All the wiser ones (non rajsthanis themselves)need is nothing but mohamad's poem to convince them rajsthanis to forget about padmavati and other 16000 women who commited jauhar due to Barbarians.😊

But NB, Padmavati is a fictional piece written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. Just like Devdas was .

It has nothing to do with sns , but election politics. You and I both know nobody can go around running a thug gang unless there is political silence and support which is needed to win elections.

Creative freedom pertain to basic freedom. There are books written like Palace of Illusion which is a different take on Mahabharat. You might not like the content but you don\t and shouldn't have a right to stop that view.

It is a different point of view about history. If the protesters have a different take , who is stopping them from presenting their facts via any media.

Laws should be fair and equal in every situation and not on basis of convenient that while the practice was wrong, it presented Indians well then it's okay. Thats not how laws should ever be drafted.

@bold - does SLB and Deepika say the say thing..that its fictional?... besides there are lots of pieces of history told through folklore like the story of Alha-udal etc... same might be a case with padmavati... or is it historically proven that there was no padmavati and raja ratan singh...and no jauhar was performed in chittor... sorry I'm not so informed in history.

obviously politics involve hai... but politicians ko to sirf unke vote bank ki fikr hoti hai na...so unless their vote bank is concerned by this issue why else will the politicians interfere...

i don't think creative freedom should be without limits... I have to disagree with u on this point... i beleive that creative freedom should not be extended where society's religious sensibilties are involved (and rajput claim to have given her a revered status like a goddess)

different takes about the same events in history create a lots of confusion ... that's how even a real event turns into a myth.,.and subsequently into a fiction..in which no-one believes in

should be is an ideal scenario... but movies are made to please people... do you think border would have been such a success if Pak was shown as a hero, or India as less of an hero... same concerns about Khilji

She doesn't exist but Ratan Singh did. Like Shy mentioned his fate is vague though the books most believe he ran away. While some of his relatives became part of Khilji's ministry. TBH, Mughals and Rajputs later on shared very friendly relations and inter-mingled and married within houses to secure their kingdom.

Bhansali is basically making the movie on the poem which was written by the Sufi Poet. 😆

in a tolerant place this movie would go unnoticeable 😉

oh yes... that was pretty bad...

if this movie went un-noticed wouldn't it be like really bad for SLB? ... afterall so much money is involved ... its better more and more people take notice rather than it going totally un-noticed 😉😆

baki tolerance word has been abused a lot ...especially when it is expected form just one community

That is the point i wanted to make ...would it be accpetable for rajputs if bold is shown without distorting the facts or do they believe in any other history where he defeated and killed khilji 😆

Padmini is not mentioned by anyone before Jayasi wrote his poem Padmavat. Amir Khusrau, who was a contemporary of Khilji, is the earliest source we have for the invasion of Chittorgarh, he mentions no Padmini. In a nutshell, Padmini is neither mentioned in the Rajput historical records, nor the Muslim records, before Jayasi.

After Jayasi composed his epic poem, there were many subsequent adaptations, the Rajputs also adapted it, one famous version of the tale known as Hemratan's Gora Badal Padmini Chaupai, presented the tale as history, and became the basis of present day folklore.
