my dadi lived with her daughter since dadu passed away in 1980s till she died in 2012 😆
I think fathers prefer staying with sons n mothers with daughters..😆

Free loaders??? Really?? These free loaders are the one who raised the guy...kuchh bhi🥱

this is too much. Guy's parents are called freeloaders n in tamilnadu they are called old furniture. Girls of my generation never fail to surprise me. 🥱
I am a girl too n I believe in balancing both sides.

Really !! 😲 It's amazing custom and should be promoted more at least in our country. 👏 The urge to have at least 1 son because they will be their last straw of hope in their old-age will drastically reduce if this is indeed taken into regular custom across all states/caste. 😊 Hope for a brighter India. ⭐️

custom or not it's not just in bunts but almost everywhere its daughters who take care of parents in south India.

Awesome 👏 . Despite being rich and progressive in culture in WB, people really are unable to accept this here. We get lots of flaks for this

because most daughters in law like desigirl said believe 😆husbands parents.are freeloaders..
Also mothers tend to be more attached.to daughters.

Though in my nani's case she can dominate and interfere at our house which i hate but her daughter in law gives her befitting replies whenever she tries interfering.
It's both ways actually. Women love living at a place they get to dominate when they are old😆

Personally I believe in keeping both parents close by but not necessarily live together, But of course not everyone can afford that sonwe all have to make adjustments.

Parents are def not freeloaders and are kids responsibility. But at that same time, we all live only one life, so no one should live oppressed life. If one can not get along with their parents or in laws, then it's better to stay apart and happy instead of bickering together.

I live with my in laws and very happily at that too, but I know too many girls who have to live miserable , depressing life caz in laws are controlling their lives. And that's when I say, parents or no parents , you have to choose your sanity over anything.

Chill people. I'm no it against helping parents in need, I'm speaking of being self sufficient and equal. I highly doubt anyone believes that both sets of in-laws have the same privileges in India (read: general terms, don't care how you're personal life is going).
