Hollywood is ten times murkier than Bollywood. It's fishy that after getting protection for over two decades, Harvey suddenly gets exposed. He must have wronged some really powerful people. He was removed not because he was doing something wrong but because he got caught doing something wrong. Hollywood is filled with rapist and pedophiles, even child actors are not spared. Some even organise orgies with underage children. It's worse and disgusting than Bollywood.

That is so sad :( and I agree with the replacement part.. that's why I'm disgusted by the entertainment industries like Bollywood and Hollywood now is cos they find actresses replaceable. Even when a Sridevi has more talent than all the male actors combined, she'd be considered replaceable by a "young" actress. It it just so disgusting and the reason why I'm done with Bollywood too now.

Yep replacing women is easy as they're regarded as an inferior class in the entertainment business. In addition, there are numerous ramifications of standing up to the filthy men - we, as outsiders, find it easy to ponder & wonder why they are silent & meek, & subsequently come to the conclusion that they must be weak & morally bankrupt women. But the reality is grim and fighting sheer power with moral righteousness is harder than it looks.

I was just reading a report on Harvey's protection racket, which successfully kept his dirty deeds under the rug for years. If any reporter dares to investigate into the scandals, they are immediately threatened with law-suits. Even renowned news networks and newspapers were constantly under pressure in the face of libel laws.

Women , who dared to speak up and file a case, ended up with out-of-court settlements and a non disclosure agreement which effectively barred them from speaking up ever again. Not to mention, their careers never took off. Now the question arises why they agreed to take cash? Well they are not wealthy enough to retain lawyers to fight a HW Mogul nor can they withstand constant threats of smear & character assassination by tabloids such as New York Post.

The reporter Ronan Farrow who went ahead with his findings was also threatened with a defamation lawsuit yer he proceeded because victims were willing to go on the record.

This is a twisted & frankly power-dominated world we live in. Moral righteousness doesn't suffice to succeed.

Rumor has it that Harvey believes his own brother Bob Weinstein fed the expose to NYtimes 😛

He stabbed his older brother on the back bcz he wanted to replace Harvey as the sole head of their film studio or maybe to settle an old score

Now they're trying to silence Rose McGowan

Her Twitter account has been suspended I think temporarily
bcz she broke the rules... This was after she called Harvey a rapist and Ben Affkeck a liar and told him to fu** off 😛

What rules?

People using the same language, making the same accusations against the President - their twitter account has never been suspended

So HW is no better

Women in such men's families are okay with this stuff. Never stop them. Women who line up at these men's rooms, homes, farm houses are also to blame.

That's why rich and powerful always brag about how they are never short of girls and they have girls falling at their feet.

Shekhar Gupta, veteran journalist recently wrote how he saw so many young girls at Dev Anand's house hoping to get cast in his movie OPPOSITE him even when he was 80!

Now when everyone knew he was so old and his movies no longer worked then why did those girls go to him?

Poverty is no excuse. Many more poor. Do they all sleep with men to somehow get work?!

Forget talentless girls even talented ones don't hesitate to please right people if need be. Sridevi, Rekha, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi etc cases are known to all.

Of course men are to blame for misusing their power, privilege and going after favours, connections instead of talent and craft of the artiste. Other men are to blame for knowing about it but keeping silent about it.

But women who willingly and silently tolerate this and often don't come out with truth all lives (don't write tell all accounts even after retirement) are to blame for feeding this culture too.

Media, PR, fans, audience being okay with such stuff and such stuff not denting a person's stature, work in any way also promotes this culture.

Male stars and aspiring male actors also tolerating casting couch, sexual harassment is making it even more rampant and worse.

Wow! You said it! There nothing to add except every word in this post is true!

I doubt it
People part of this culture are too big a name , I don't think industry will take any active part in bringing them down

Kangana publicly shamed Pancholi, a literal nobody, did anyone come forward and support her claim? Its well known fact that he is pest of highest order but still NOT A SINGLE SOUL.
Same goes for Vikas Bahl. One hit director. He is now going to do a film with Hrithik

BW knows audience will forget this shit sooner or later, so they don't push themselves to be part of the mess. Its a horrible industry to be in

Some women, even well heeled and educated women, go along with it with no complaints, enjoy all the perks, until they feel the need for revenge

Gretchen Carlson of "Fox News" only sued her Boss Roger Ailes after her show was cancelled due to low ratings, if her contract had been renewed, show hadn't been cancelled she would've kept quiet like she did for all those years ...
She sued saying her show was cancelled only bcz she refused her Boss' sexual advances years ago...

Roger Ailes had to resign from his own company when a few women came forward after that (But the accusations against him were nothing like Weinstein's case, but I didn't follow it till the end)

This trend might affect women in workplace in the future
