With all the brouhaha over Harvey Weinstein being exposed by the NYT this week. So many top actresses have come forward with claims of sexual harassment, him pressurizing them for sexual favours in return for roles etc. It blown up "bigly"

Do you think something similar would ever happen in BW? Would Bollywood pervs like Dutt, Ghai, Ajay, Akshay ever be brought to book?

as i understood its controlled by the mafia,they are producers supporters so i don't think it would be possible

Yes...it will happen sooner or later. As due to SM these people are always in our faces. While that has its advantages it is also bound to blow up for them one day.

^^ I hope so too. Its already started in small pockets. KR has named and shamed quite a few people over the years. Someone else called out AB sr;s lecherous behaviour.

I hope other actresses find courage to come forward too. I feel a lot of idols will lose their sparkly shininess!!!

Though not sure public naming will have negative repercussions for any of these men! BW rallies around its boys plus as a country we have extremely short public memory

Maybe not. Casting couch in BW is different. Instead of asking for a fellatio, BW producers, directors, actors opt for flings.

Doubt it. I hope it does but I really doubt it. They all prefer having flings/ONS with the actresses. Plus hailing men is ingrained in our cultural tradition so deeply, that it would probably take a century.

I remember there used to be this blog in the early aughts...where someone had mentioned auditioning for a well known director (guess was it was Ghai) who had a bedroom attached to his office...this starlet had come to audition and was asked to flash him and he took quite a lot of liberties with her..she sounded fairly traumatised! One of the has been actresses should write a tell all!!!

Even if its consensual on the face of it- pressurizing someone into having sex with you because you wield power - is the very definition of sexual assault/harassment.

I hope other producers also get outed.

One problem Bollywood supports criminals (Salman, Sooraj, Sanjay (Khan/Dutt) etc.

Rapists like Vikas Bahl still have a career :/

Even in HW, there aren't that many such men whose reality is comes to light in the media. One got caught but hundreds are still hidden and will continue their bad behavior.

It's the same with BW. Once in a while a Shakti Kapoor gets caught or some actress talks about Ghai's escapades. But most of the high profile ones are never caught. Unfortunately, it will take a long time for any real change to come through. A real real long time.
