On the other hand, there's the name calling, shaming of the women

Joy Behar called Bill Clinton's victims "Tramps"

Hillary called them "bimbos", "trailer trash" etc.

That's sad considering some of them were truly victims like the women in old Indian movies where the villain chases them down and rapes or molests them, they didn't even wanted any favors from him, never sought him out

When one of his victims Paula Jones went to the "National Organization for Women" (the American feminist organization NOW) for help, they refused

Another victim Kathleen Willey called women's right attorney Gloria Allred office twice, never heard back from her

Doesn't it sound similar to how Kangana Ranaut didn't get any help from women's commission and their member rather coaxed her to shut up?

So called women's orgs are also fake it seems

i am in no way taking side here.. but what is the line though? where is the point where it crosses to harassment.. in an industry where actors do intimate scenes together?

it is understandable when it comes to casting couch.. but these actors get so close to each other that.. eventually things happen..

with the said... is it sexual harassment if a boss asks an employee out with the intentions of more than being employee and friends?

Well, I am no Kanagana sympathizer but women's commission should look into a complain impartially

But they vehemently deny it, say Kangana never approached them

But agree with the Bold part, it's true mostly.

Actors doing intimate scenes in front of camera is professional requirement.

Offscreen asking actors or aspiring actors for sexual favours, making sexual advances, promising them roles or further promotion in exchange of sexual favours is wrong.

Things do not happen.

Forcing yourself on someone or trying to enter his or her room and crossing limits, blackmailing or putting pressure for sexual favours is wrong.

Huh? Acting in intimate scenes has nothing to do with harassment. Sexual harassment is when your boss or anyone with leverage tries to , forcibly or manipulatively , form a patronage relationship in exchange of sexual favors and in case of denial, they threaten you with stalling professional advancement. Sexual harassment is when your male colleagues are clearly more focused on your gender and less on your qualification. I had a teammate at my institution who used to crack obscene jokes knowing very well I despised those, in attempts to unnerve me. They see it as a power move and exerting authority of some sort, If you complain & object, voila you're tagged as someone not fit to work in a tough environment!

In case of Harvey, the women that came out, were attacked upon without any consent. That's not mere harassment. It's predatory behavior. Most were cornered and blindsided and had no idea what was coming! So the bolded assumption - "things happen" doesn't even remotely apply here. It's much more different than getting a sugar daddy! There's no window of "revenge" and framing "poor" men here!

Aside from being boys club who refuse to give up power, we have south asian patriarchy and misogyny attached to our society

And in India bw, politics and underground are heavily interlinked. Its not just donating for fundraisers campaign here

Almost all big shot actors and actresses become MPs and Rajya Sabha members

Ours here is murky and muddy and utterly ugly ans I honestly have no hope the gutter will ever be cleaned.
