As much as I idolise Sonu, I don't think Shaan has ever said that about Sonu. They are contemporaries so how can he idolise Sonu? Yes, about Kishore Kumar he did say that he used to find it easier to sing Kishore Kumars songs but as far as I know Shaan doesn't copy any singer. He has his own style.

Sonu is quite senior to shaan and even kk ...Sonu is working since 1993...and shaan has said this in quite few interviews that he follow sonu nigam and kishore kumar , for sonu nigam he eloborated that he inspires the way he kept on re inventing himself shaan beleive sonu is one singer who changed his singing with according to time ...and in the reply sonu said that shaan have a better voice than me ...though both are best friends shaan wife Radhika told she used to dream of getting married to sonu when she saw sonu on zee tv sa re ga ma as a host back in days 👏😆

by following sonu he doesnt meant that he is taking classes its just out of respect he said like sonu says for likes of his seniors udit shanu
