He is another singer with good voice quality, and it's perfect for soft, slow songs and dance music as well.
All playback singers have certain types of songs that they excel in, and the above two are his strengths. He also excels in IndiPop and I loved his albums.
I think his voice was fine in Chham Se. I didn't feel like he was rushing through it.

Like Udit Narayan, he also has what people call a 'smiley' voice. Always a pleasure to hear him sing. He is great to listen to live (Not all singers are. Many sound bad without autotune/studio technology).

in his shows he always mimic by saying people dont call me and uditji to sing an emotional or sad songs 😆, shock to see him famous more as a host than singer he didnt got his due i mean the populairty likes of atif aslam or arijit got shaan didnt although he entererd in bolywood much late in 99 with pyar main kabhi kabhi when sonu nigam already become a brand of romantic playback songs or established singer . may be with the likes of udit sonu kumar sanu presennce shaan didn't got much focused in public eye but i bet he could have been a huge name in the likes of udit shanu sonu if he have gotten half of romantic songs atif sang in those days of late 2000 ...once shaan sang Tu Jane Na and he outshined the atif studio version, his downfall wasnt expected as early he was growinng in early 2000 but what suddenly happened music got changed or what

He didn't get his due, but he did well. He got to sing with big banners and in top films in the 2000s, and his IndiPop albums were well-received and successful. He is well-liked by audiences and is talented, so he definitely deserves more recognition.

undoubtly he can sing modren songs from 90 singer aura only sonu nigam and shaan can sing what the modren generation are singing but if someone like sonu who already had successful long carrier of nearly 2 decades, people know him for his versatility is not getting much songs these days what shaan will get 🤢 its all fault of music directors who think that current heartrob singers can give them a hit song and business and not the expreinced one , i have read recently someone posted that shaan said i can sing better than what arijit singh can so i am opening my youtube account . something like this . someone posted the article quite recently

These days, with autotune and technology, even mediocre singers can become playback singers. No wonder that the 90s and 2000s singers don't get much respect from music directors.

I was the one who posted that article. AND IM STILL PISSED OFD ABOUT THAT! I mean, what the hell?? How can people neglect Shaan, kk and Sonu is beyond me. The whole idea of melody has changed. I'm still clueless ands to why all of a sudden people like voices that screech in your ears or are fake seductive.?i recently heard the remake version of iss kadar pyaar hain and till then I had no idea that the song could be butchered to that extent. All songs sound like either the singer has a throat oain or he is in midst of an extremely painful orgasm! Sorry if I've offended anyone's sensibilities, but seriously when you ignore a voice that sang Chand sifarish and that person has to open a YouTube account, at this stage of his career, that's just sad!

^^Some time back, a member said that perhaps one of the reasons that the 90s singers don't sing much now is because they are not comfortable with English. OK, so that is true for a number of 90s singers.
But that reason cannot explain why Shaan doesn't sing much now. He is fluent in English. Just cannot understand it. Talent wasted.

What rubbish, 90s singers can't sing English songs??

Shaan - tanhai dil tanha safar. It's a soft rock number.

Kk - countless songs really. He is the pioneer of rock music in the industry I feel. All the younger singers come from kk school of singing where you sing flat out but still connect.

Sonu - the entire music album deewana had a complete western feel to it. Besides that he has collaborated with Many actual English artists like Adele or jay Sean or avicii. I could go on about him, but we'll leave that coz it would be my bias.

All these songs have actual rock vibes to that and if they are talking about accents then I'm glad they don't. There is something very unnatural about the anglicised Hindi that's so popular these days. At least the diction of these singers was perfect.

Just how - just how are these artists ignored??? What is so wrong in their voices or their styles that they are failing to connect with the current youth. Why should a song like aa bhi jaa tu kahin se be rated any less than say tum hi ho?? And why should a song like Sooraj dooba hain be more popular than avicii - Indian levels which is just a modified version of the same?? 😲

Anyways, guess I'm just venting since I'm still mad with that article.

Shaan. Sonu. - absolute talent wasted!!
