She does get appreciation, and her produced movies have won multiple National Awards which is commendable. It's just in the context of how little Northeast India gets barely any representation in media or public attention, the people aren't pleased with her misrepresenting a peaceful state as troubled. I'd hope she continues to invest in regional movies, and a little research before interviews..

the movie is about Nepali kids fleeing insurgency in Nepal and finding a safe haven in Sikkim. that's what she meant. just didn't word it well in one interview so it sounded like insurgency in Sikkim. She made a mistake, give her a break.
