Some bollywood actor takes year to read script and end up being part of the movies which has no story, or script. So why do such actor waste time in reading something which is never shown on the screen. On the other hand some actor can complete 3-4 projects good project in a year without repeating acts/story. How long should actor wait to find good script ?

Reading scripts is an excuse. They actually don't get good scripts.

That's nice and all, but Rustom was not a good movie. Reviews lured me into watching it, and boy was it bad!

In Bollywood, actors get type-casted. So if the film is of certain genre, then certain actors are deemed fit to do those movies... and the actors themselves also get caught in this web - that they can do only certain kind of films...
This trend is changing now and hope our new gen actors do not get caught in this web

Agree Rustom was half baked script. Rustom IMO did well all because of combination of the goodwill of Akki post Airlift, it had created curiosity about the Nanavati case and that it had a hilarious court sessions, which entertained people. Also the dismal performance of MD helped.
But it was weakest movie of Akki, apart from HF3 since Entertainment.

Maybe actors are approached with scripts that might suit them... we see actors and they all seem to be taking up similar themes consistently... like
SRK - romance/fun,
Salman - IDK but some type,
Akshay - social issues

It depends on the actor maybe the kind of scripts that go to them... why did not SRK take up the kind of movies like Akshay did, I wonder what'd have become out of his career especially at times where country has become more socially aware..

Akshay especially carved his own place by consistently doing diverse films and maybe it was his own choices that gave him the image and is now known to be socially sensitive/conscious actor.. I must say, he was very intelligent to gauge the mood of the nation and make such clever choices :)
