Things are unexpected and we might come in shock for what the future holds. What are your thoughts though? Seems everything is doing bad lately. Bollywood is polluted with talentless star kids, and will continue to do so, so no hope there? Khans can't last forever and some younger actors don't seem to be hitting anything with the audience.

This year has been bad so far, I think.

Bleak. They should take inspiration from the right sources instead of copying in a silly manner Hollywood and the likes.

Hollywood's summer box score was pathetic. Was it nepotism I wonder??? 😛 😆

There is need for revamp. New superstars need to be born on ticket window and script doctoring is necessity... 😊

Completely agree with that. And no, can't blame nepotism for everything. Was just saying that everyone is so ready to accept someone who has no talent or even cares to try acting before entering bw. Just let any star kid come in. Case in point Athiya Shetty.

Nihayat hi bakwas. Young stars ko aana chahiye but except for Varun, looks like most of them lack in one or the department. But they have time, we'll see. And nepotism for talentless people toh is the bane of BW at this point. Along with all this, we also have a serious creative rut which seems to be worsening. Toh idk about the future.

The senior lot needs to move on to more appropriate roles and movies. The problem is senior lot comes with a lot of baggage and expectations. Their budgets are high, their egoes are at stake , their expectations are beyond realities. Eventually everyone suffers. If the younger lot were given the same scripts that these seniors keep hogging on it would do industry a lot good. Budgets would be less, expectations would be low and these people would get room to expand their fanbase and grow. The films could do better business for everyone involved. Its what this industry needs right now to actually have a future . Building a strong set of actors for the future. Seniors should concentrate on experiments and more unknown genres and storylines for the industry. They have enough star power to choose risky scripts and atleast make the audience think about trying out something new.Like Amitabh Bachhan had Paa.Experience and popularity can do wonders for new genres and stories.Younger lot can never do that cause of less fan following.

I'm hopeful of the future.. I'm not feeling too bad about the way the cine industry has been doing because I feel everything has it's phases.. ebb and flow is law of nature 😊😆

Plus, I'm exploring a vast universe of older movies now, so I have just begun enjoying cinema :D

The star of cinema will always shine brightly. Cinema has gone through several phases and changes. From Betamax to Blue Ray. From Rental Shops to Streaming Services. Cinema has seen it all and stayed strong. It even survived through recessions of the past.
Back in the day, people had much fewer choices. With an endless array of content available to view easily at nominal cost, the cinema viewer has a lot more choices in modern times. Cinema is just struggling to compete with the excess of choice.

But like it has in the past it will adapt and thrive. Besides streaming services are producing their own cinema now. It is not the death of cinema, but evolution into a new format.

Very bright.
But how people consume cinema is changing. People used to go to the theater to watch movies in comfort. Good seats, sound, big screen. Now you can get something similar if you invest and if watching movies are a part of your family culture then people invest. There are even outdoor projectors. You can have a backyard movie watching party easily.

Few are willing to drive to the movies in this environment or when you can see them a few months later on cable or netflix. Piracy is a huge factor and people don't go unless the movie is compelling to be watched on the big screen.

I think film makers have to find a way to get the public to pay for the movie and not necessarily in the movie theater. Netflix and Amazon both have a presence in India and they have changed the face of movies and TV in the US. But they choose good actors. So nepotism will eventually die a death because Amazon or Netflix will not invest in a last name without talent like KJO.

BW will reinvent itself, it is forced to. No more rogue budgets or lack of scripts. BO will clobber you. And that is a very good thing.
