Tara of Tamasha didn't have any great backstory, her character come to think about it was poorly etched. A woman goes for a trip falls in love with a kind of a con man so much so that she is willing to leave everything and come find him only to reject him and then again go back to him for him to reject her. The character very frankly didn't make sense but DP played her so well that she made it one of the more memorable characters in Imtiazs oeuvre and made us root more for Tara than the hero.
Then we have Sejal who also didn't have any great backstory seemed desperate to be considered sexy and falls in love with a tour guide. Anushka portrayed her as this annoying woman whom we couldn't relate to at all. She bought out nothing in the character and only ended up making a poorly etchedchatacter more annoying.
I feel this forum shies from giving DP her due as an actress. She is one of the finer actresses we have today and this itself should show the doubters how her acting is far superior to her so called competitors

I think thats what made it sexy. The otherwise in control Gujju girl wanted to be out of control and the otherwise cheapster who cannot control had to control himself. But you know what was beautiful? He was more than happy to control himself because she was worth it to him.
