Deepika was just something else in this film for me. It was a completely internalized performance and her subtle approach is what I personally thought she excelled in - it brings so much more than being OTT/ being over-expressive does. The way she portrays her emotions is just so real in this movie - the exact scenes you've mentioned (Corsica/Calcutta/getting giddy and overexcited on meeting Ranbir in the cafe) show how much she's grown as an actor from the Break ke Baad/Love Aaj Kal days. I can see what Ranbir meant when he says she 'glows' on screen, its her lack of inhibitions now that makes her a better actress today.👍🏼Those 2 scenes were really amazing, I think hats off to the way Imtiaz shot them as well - it makes you feel like you're there with them while Ved struggles and tries to grasp who he is. The other scene I love is the one when Ranbir tells 'his' story to his parents and grandmother, it really summed up the film for me.. having had similar experiences to Ved in his corporate life/not wanting to do study what he did etc, the way Ranbir did the scene was so relatable and it felt cathartic to watch on screen. 😊
