which role? IMO comparison with Priety is apt, both were faux numero uno, courtesy of doing big movies with big stars. Never had Massive fan following.

Go check her filmography! She has had a hand in the success of all her movies she was just not some flowerpot who did one dimensional roles in every movie! PZ was loved by me and all my friends, Anushka is unbearable to us, so according to me PZ enjoyed a much bigger fan following!

check her filmography? Check kiya kuch khaas toh nahi hai. Priety was a more fun person in interviews I give you that, so more likeable than socially awkward Anushka

In Bombay Velvet she wasnt bubbly either...in fact it was a tragic role of a singer

I bet in her next production, Pari she will be in a completely different avatar

In most commercial movies she signs, writer director typecasts her in that bubbly image
Im glad shes making movies for herself where she can experiment with different roles instead of getting stuck in the bubbly girl image
I think all actresses shd make their own movie now so they can do projects they believe in and roles which they want to do.

Quick question, since when women's roles have been described "s**tty" or "bubbly"? Have we had any terms describing men's roles? Or is that solely reserved for women and their ability to play strong women with a personality that appears to be "bubbly"?

Agreed. There was zilch woman empowerment attached to the movie.

Even with the kind of role anushka couldn't stand out.

Her screen presence is none and when she does stand out she is absolutely a nuisance.

Kind of surprising to hear an actor say that she will only act or take up roles basis her real life personality phase? Huh? I would have thought as an actor she would say that she wouldn't do roles that mistreated women or played to reinforce the damaging women stereotypes.

I think she has been extremely lucky that she has got some amazing breaks. However she acts very entitled and more a star and less an actor. Even her justification for turning down Tamasha and Tom tomming about it seemed very star like. If only she paid more attention to her job rather than ensuring she schmoozed with the coolest gang, maybe Bombay velvet wouldn't have been that big a disaster (she was the weakest link in bv) and jhms would have been watchable. Let's face it , the chemistry between her and Srk was sad to bad. Also her character whether by design or by acting was so annoying that one couldn't stay beyond the first few minutes and try to watch the full movie. in the past we have seen crap movies work because of the lead actors, here Srk was let down by an annoying heroine and a director who believed all the praise that came his way and stopped working for it. The only movies of Anushka I enjoyed was ADHM and BBB. She needs to learn humility and approach her job as an actor if she wants to make a mark. As of now she is an extremely average actor who thinks no end if herself.

rather watch or root for an Alia who seems to be more involved with her job that is acting and who in spite of belonging to a Bollywood family does not act as entitled.

Well that's ur perception I don't think anushka could have pulled off her author backed roles in veer zaara and kal ho na ho!

Veer Zaara or Kal Ho Na ho are good performances, not excellent one. Going by that criteria even Anushka had NH10, Sultan or even PK.
