My comment was in context of her shade throwing at Deepika in relation to Tamasha. Why does she have to act so intellectually superior if she herself accepts such half baked and forgettable characters opposite superstars?

Critics still preferred Tara over Sejal.

Critics still preferred Tara over Sejal.

critics may prefer someone but the audience may someone else... Sejal in JHMS is much more fun to watch than Tara in Tamasha...which is true. Deepika fans were annoyed coz Anushka rejected Tamasha and then agreed to do JHMS. why can't they jus get over it. Anushka said she really enjoyed working in this movie n it's close to her heart. She believed in the movie n her director. Sometimes films work and sometimes they dont... this is not a disaster by any measure.. if you see the audience reaction videos on youtube most of them r really positive. People jus have higher standards n expectations from some actors

befikre is unbearable... and the writing was on the wall after the first poster. Raabta may have failed miserably but atleast there was some attempt to try something different n not jus parade around half naked like in befikre...

please dont put JHMS in the category of either of those films...it's actually a very enjoyable film that can be happily watched atleast once..it's jus that we expected more

Because the movie never solely relied on her in the first place. Yes she's probably a top actress right now with lots of hits, but she's never been a crowd puller or someone with that level of presence who'd serve the sole reason for crowd to watch the movie.

Also will blame imtiaz for it, sejal was a very badly written character with lots of inconsistencies. There were times when one didn't know what to expect from her character so if Anushka falters playing the role I don't blame her at all, coz the her character was extremely inconsistently written.

And if this movie fails the only one to be blamed would be imtiaz...!

@bold: Its funny how you try to pass off your opinion as the opinion of the masses and as a universal fact. Anyway, there is no accounting for taste.

Deepika fans are not annoyed that Anushka rejected Tamasha. Nobody actually cares. 😆 What's annoying is her shade throwing because she is guilty of doing the same. It infact makes her look hypocritical.

This post of mine isn't anyway related to the success or failure of the film. Heck, I'm a SRK fan. Why would I want it to flop? 😆 I was talking about her character.

^^^lol deepika fans simply CANNOT get over the fact that anushka didnt do tamasha...they bring it up in every thread that they can...plz jus get over it... rather than using it to bash anushka everytime. She didnt like tamasha and did the right thing by not doing it. She liked JHMS and agreed to do it. Sometimes a character doesnt turn out the way u expect it to but that doesnt mean she shudnt have done the film...you dont know until you try.

no one cares for anuksha she aint no kat. deepika or alia. the movies she acted in could have been acted by any tom, dick or harry.

As said above, she accepted a poorly written, inconsistent character like Sejal but back then, her PR or source publicised how she turned down the role and trashed Tara's character as insignificant, a secondary flowerpot.

According to the report published by Open Magazine, Band Baaja Baaraat' actress Anushka Sharma was the first choice for the character of Tara'. But, the lady declined the offer as she felt that the role wasn't "meaty enough for her. A source was quoted as saying: "As badly as she wanted to work with Ali, the role didn't impress her at all. It wasn't lengthy enough as it was primarily Ranbir's film.

Now most critics have praised the characterisation of Tara while bashing Sejal's writing, so Anushka's slam about Tamasha is ironic 😆

The story seems to have gone haywire in the 2nd half
I agree they should have selected the script after a full reading
If they have to be blamed it is only for a wrong script selection
