I agree

And you really don't see his PR going overboard with the claims neither does any media give it any attention. In one way it's good to be underrated than overhyped.

2000s were different. It was tough to pick out hits as producers mostly had only theatrical release to earn money. Now producers sell rights of their films to various channels and release theatrically at lower costs. Ofcourse MOST people have also smartened up by keeping the budgets low. Only idiots or very good directors go for high budgets.

i find it unfair saying that he couldn't have pulled off this role or that role..how would you know if he has never played that character? there are very few actors who can pull off any kind of role effortlessly despite not looking the part..and they are not our so called superstars..they are the character actors like nawazuddin from present (gow)..or for me sanjeev kumar was one such actor who could play any role inspite of him not looking the part ..
if SSR had managed to pull off a dhoni so effortlessly..he also struggled with a much easier role in raabta..which many critics said saif who is an average actor at best would have managed effortlessly..so shoudl we praise SSR for dhoni or call him a bad actor for a dud like Raabta?

every actor worth his salt has had bad movies or flops in his career...i am a huge fan of Aamir and have seen all of his movies..i literally cringed on some of his movies with juhi..though they are my fav pair..but now no one can deny Aamir is one of the finest actors we have today..

Ranbir is no Aamir but he has a long way to go..and he def has the potential to be so..

No one can rise above a bad script. I am copy pasting what Rajeev Masand had written in his review of Raabta and he has definitely questioned the writing and not Sush

: But they're not playing particularly likeable characters so it's hard to care for what happens to these people beyond a point. It's a shame because Sushant has proved himself to be a really competent actor. Although, to be honest, even Denzel Washington couldn't save this film.

lolol this article doesn't make any sense. He was giving back to back hits so media hyped him even shahid/Ranveer were called next srk so??
varun's success is overrated in this forum. average bo is not equal to success. noone remembers movies like dishoom, mth etc.plus he is a terrible actor.so doesn't get any attention from media.

I liked Dishoom and MTH a hell of lot more than Rockstar or Lootera or DDD 😆😆

Better or not. But those 2 had better footfalls averagely.

But honestly. Both considered mediocre films here. Yet did well at BO. Not a smash hit. No great WOM. But managed success. Not every star can have their worst at least reach to an average or sem-hit status.

Varun's lowest opening film itself is 6.2cr (MTH).

So according to this article the BW audience are supposedly idiots who don't use their own brains and form their likes and dislikes depending on the media propaganda?

Who wrote this article? KRK ka chota bhai 😆 when majority of known critics praise Ranbir, there's bound to be 1 or 2 butthurt blogger spewing bullshit since their fav is neither getting critics approval or box offc success. This guy seems to be frustrated fan of someone who has been banished from bollywood 😆

No, they're pretty smart, which is why the propaganda doesn't seem to be working. 😉

Ranbir has worked with SLB, Shimit Amin, Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Jha, Rajkumar Santoshi, Karan Johar, Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Basu, and now - he's working with Rajkumar Hirani. These are the who's who of directors in Bollywood. Despite that, Ranbir hasn't been able to consolidate his place as a star or a versatile actor. It's come late, but he's starting to get criticized for his repetitive, nonchalant acting.

Doesn't take away from the fact that he is still a good actor. I appreciate spontaneity in acting, which is why I rate his performance in Ajab Prem and Barfi as two of his best. Others like Rockstar, Rajneeti (he was bland in this one with his disinterested act), Tamasha, etc. had him playing himself.
