How BW Propaganda Tricked Us Into Making Ranbir Kapoor A Supeerstar - Page 8

A couple of years back Ranbir was delivering big hits like YJHD, Rajneeti, APKGK and even shocker successes like Barfi. He was getting 20 Cr openings, was getting paid as much as the top stars and was the top choice for all brands even over the Khans(the youth factor, brands are always looking to connect with the 20 y/o as they spend the most and nobody connected better than Ranbir).
. Today it's Varun, even if his success is on a much smaller scale. Tomorrow it might be someone else. Ranbir was not a superstar, neither is Varun. They're just doing well at the BO. A superstar has to stand the test of time.
As for the media, they throw around labels like it's going out of style. Today they're saying Ranbir is Over if Dutt fails. If superstar is an exaggeration then so is this. Nobody should take some beat writer who couldn't make it in real journalism seriously. The only ones who got fooled were the producers who invested 100+ Cr's, not the audience.

Finally someone wrote it. Ranbir is a very good actor no doubt but the way he is praised to the skies is laughable. He is very very over-rated. And I am tired of some critics saying that he is the best in the generation. No he is not. I can't imagine him as Bajirao, I can't imagine him do a Dhoni and neither a Badrinath.

Ranbir is slowly being marginalized 😆😆😆

I totally agree with the article. He is praised for no reason and even the most harsh journos do not criticize him explains why all his films are praised by critics.

Yeah BW peeps are so jobless now that they will start creating propaganda and etc. for his sake. The Kapoors ain't that influential, given someone like Aamir sing his praises too. This sprouts no sense at all.

BW is being showcased as some sort of mafia now that can decide anyone's fate.

However I do feel, he is a decent actor...one of the best of his generation but limited, can only excel in certain roles which all he has been doing till now. Yes, sometimes exaggerated but this article just beats it off.

@bold...ICAM!! Shobha De had us believing that Fawad was the next big thing and not having him here in BW was a huge loss to us. BS!! 😆 This article is sorta similar. It wants us to believe that Ranbir is a terrible actor and popular only coz of propaganda. Another load of BS! Ranbir is one of the good ones from his generation. He's acted quite well in every movie he's done. How come we haven't seen an article like this for Salman(a TERRIBLE actor) or Shahid or Varun? Who paid this writer? Daya, pata lagao. I agree that his films haven't always worked but no one can say that he doesn't act well.

ranbir is a very gud actor, very talented, and that cannot be denied, but wen we talk about the word 'superstar' i dont think that applies ot any of these youngsters yet, they hav to do many more films, take another 10 years and gain that solid fanbase that the khans hav

Substitute Ranbir for any other star kid and they get the same privileges although Ranbir is the most favoured among them all except probably Alia. Now that's another one who's regularly fawned upon by other so-called great actors and said to be the Best thing since sliced bread.

Still Alia is better in that the other star kid girls are so much worse. But Ranbir brings absolutely nothing to the table. He's a one trick pony pulling the whiny self-pitying confused manchild role in every film.

Can he do Ranveer Singh's role in Ram Leela or Bajirao? Not a chance Can Ranveer do any of his Wake up Sid or Rockstar roles? Hell Yeah and probably would bring some more nuances to the table.

Can he even do Varun's role in Main Tera Hero or Badlapur? Not a chance. he already tried that kind of thing in Besharam and BV and fell Phutt on his face.

Ranbir is the most talentless star kid right now and worst out of the current gen and yet he still considered a superstar somehow and getting choice films.

A couple of years ago, RK was getting good profits for his films so it made sense to sort of elevate him from the rest of the young generation (like Arjun Kapoor, Sid etc). But now, he's been pretty much a flop barring ADHM. What I find astounding is that this guy is literally incurring huge losses from his projects and yet he is still getting movies. And not just random movies, good movies from good PH's/directors. How the heck does that happen.

This article has a few factual errors. How can RK be 17 in 99 and 24 in 2008 when BAH released?

Anyway, I do think RK is a good actor but yes he is not versatile at all and his BO pull is questionable if not non-existent. This is why I can't help but roll my eyes to the back of my head when people assert he's better than Aamir and claim Aamir only started acting post-Lagan. It's also funny when they dismiss RK's competitors like they mean nothing when RK himself has claimed to be envious of some of his competitors' work.

People generally kill a good thing when they hype it up to the max.
