STARDOM - It's 1 thing which reflects in Opening of films, when film falls, how much Star power means ppl loving that STAR can hold that film.

In this department he is even below Hrithik Roshan, in order of Stardom i would rate:

1. Salman

2. Srk

3. Akshay Kumar

4. Ajay D

5. Hrithik Roshan

6. Aamir

His only existence came from Ghajini & Except for his ATGs he has nothing that too came from SCRIPT & not coz of him.

Is this ranking for overall career or post 2000?

If its post 2000 then your ranking is fake as it gets.

Salman is at 1

At 2 its debatable between AK and SRK.

And i still feel people underestimate scripts. AK is brilliant in that department. One needs talent to understand/read scripts. Unfortunately i don't see any actor except AK have that.

One can see why the likes of Irfan and Nawaz could not become stars despite being great actors.. But why not Amir? Thats what I am trying to ask

Jawani zindabad, atank hi atank, tum mere ho...Aamir Khan filmography was really bad. I mean if anyone can watch these movies at one sitting i will have big respect for them...😆😆😆

I think Aamir Khan changed post Rangeela...he started doing less movies and then one movie at a time.

Aamir changed post LAGAAN... OSCAR Nomination changed his perspective... DCH Came at that same time...

Lagaan and DCH helped Aamir image among young crowd especially.

For a minute I thought TL was trolling Fawad as KSG and wrongly added RK. Fawad's topics do seem to have gained momentum on IF. Not that I thought for a second but comparison can be made seeing both are from TV. Thumb rule is one should never be so transparent in hate. It loses its potency. Not targeted towards anyone. Just randomly passed my mind. Moving on.😆

On topic, Aamir lacked the macho image that was prevalent when he first entered movies. Nor was he fitting into romantic mold. He did make handful of good movies. But 90's was brutal time for actors with non macho image and every one was doing what they could to lay their hands on movies. When he had chance he would try to do something different. He does have very successful producer uncle.

For better or worse Mani Ratnam changed Bollywood scene. Content based movies gained momentum and like some one said multiplex were on rise. Aamir's Sarfarosh was game changer for him. He had learnt marketing skills, film making but Sarfarosh made plain demand for him to act and it was this movie that made him an actor to reckon with. It is impossible to talk about the feeling that passed the theater when DCP Rathod enters the police station. Aamir was DCP Rathod and not Aamir. He followed it with good movies like DCH, lagan, Rangeela, 1942 Love Story. There were mis-steps but they became few..

Now he seems to have gained knack to pick good script and add dash of marketing savvy. And he mixes and matches it with mindless Gajani and Dhooms. The upshot is he has got BO success but has ensured some if not all of his movie will stand test of time. Not a bad ideal to emulate for younger generation.😳

His bad movies started reducing. Mela is a blockbuster compared to the list of movies i just mentioned...😆

After Lagaan he started with his one movie at a time thing and he started getting a hold on young generation.

Look at his filmography after Lagaan..far far better than his 90s one.
