After almost a year a movie has piqued my interest other than Toilet EPK to make me want to watch it at the cinema. Booking a show for tomorrow, eeks I am excited! :D

2.5 is low but it will pickup today and tomorrow

I saw this yesterday...and wow.

Sridevi is just...no words can do justice. Legend, Powerhouse, Actor par excellence - all these adjectives fall short.

Sridevi shows...what the current actresses lack. They lack real talent, with certain nuances. She shows us once again what we are lacking in the new girls. Which is sad...even actresses that I am personally a fan of..just DONT MATCH UP! Just giver her all of the awards right now...I refuse to believe anyone can outdo this performance. Not even this year, but I would say even in the next 10 years lol...I believe only Sridevi can outdo herself. Man if her daughter has even half of her talent...shes gonna be big!


There is not a single scene where you don't connect with her or feel her emotions. There are so many scenes where you get goosebumps...not because of the story or screenplay...but because of SRIDEVI and the way she expresses herself. It almost seems like you're actually watching something happen in reality. IT doesn't even look like acting!

I know this is not a popular opinion, but I felt Nawaz and Akshaye couldn't match up. According to me they were strictly average.

In terms of the movie/content - this is an amazing must watch movie.

The only weak point I personally think is the climax/ending - I felt it could've been better and more impactful (storyline wise)...It needed more of a punch in the end. But this can be overlooked due to Sridevi.

mom very sweet film

Watched Mom today, went with lot of expectation after reading all reviews posted here and must say totally overwhelmed by the film. Such a well made, brilliantly casted and superbly acted film. Sridevi was awe inspiring, not one false note except for her accent but thats just nit picking lol. Story was on expected line, in many ways similar to kaabil but the performances of the cast and gripping screenplay elevated it giving it much depth then just a revenge saga. At 2.30 hrs it did seem long, but the director is competent enough to hold the audiences interest till the end. People started clapping when Sri finally pulled the trigger in the end.

Oh absolutely, Sridevi most certainly is a contender for one of the greatest, if not the greatest.

There were so many scenes in Mom where she really redefines the words subtle acting!

For example, when she picks up the pen drive from Nawaz, that slight mis-catch and then eventually she grabs hold of it, was so subtle yet so effective. Her nervousness was displayed so well. Or when she trembles during a minor car crash, all her interactions between Sejal, before and after the incident, how Sejal's character constantly ignores her, disapproves her and is unwilling to accept her- Sri hardly uses dialogues to express her unhappiness or the yearning for love from her daughter- she just expresses everything through her eyes and body language.

That scene in the hospital with one of the perpetrators, who becomes vegetative. It starts of with sarcastic comedy, to her expressing her hatred in flinch of seconds! How she changes the emotional gears is brilliant!!

Her performance in Mom was so subtle, nuanced, layered and extremely effective, she literally carries the movie.
