Guess Who?
Now this is one story that contains more drama than many of the masaledar tele-soaps put together. A relatively new director, who directed one of the most fashion-savvy Bollywood babes in his debut film, was obviously keen on starting his next.
While on his quest to find a potential financer / producer for it, the young and reasonably-good-looking director happened to meet this young lady, whose production company today has become somewhat akin to a movie-churning factory.
The lady took a liking, not really to the project but to our dear man himself. What's more, she believed that the man also had the potential to be an actor and insisted that he act in the film as well, instead of bringing in some new fellow.
The director jumped at the opportunity. Why rust those good looks behind the camera, when they could be put to better use in front of it, right?
Soon the quintessential grooming began, right from workouts to facials, spa sessions to acting classes. The director was now serious about embracing his new role and our lady was happily emptying her pockets to groom the next big star of the industry.
Enter her equally-good-looking business partner. Jealous that his partner hadn't pushed him to become an actor in this way, he now wanted to be part of the film, and as an actor too. The business-lady asked the writer of the film to make it into a two-hero project. Smart indeed. Little did she know that this would be just the beginning of a crazy rollercoaster ride.
The director-turned-wannabe-actor now asked the writer to make his role meatier than his co-actor's. Well, the business partner isn't dumb either. He saw the trick played on him and went to his partner, saying he didn't want the director-turned-wannabe-actor to direct the film, and made the writer of the film the captain of the ship. Think that's all? We're not done yet.
The business partner then went a step ahead and asked the new director to focus more on his character. The director-turned-wannabe-actor had by this point had enough of this drama and decided to back out of the film. Now the film will only star this producer partner and is expected to go on the floors shortly.
But now our dear lady doesn't want to make this film and is trying her best to convince her partner to not do the silly project'. Yes, the same project that she had thought was exciting enough to translate on to the big screen. Well, you too know by now the reason for this change of heart. Phew, such a long tale!
