Better vocal range as a singer

Hey I've heard many music directers say that they prefer these voices because they can sing any range songs. Just wanted to know your opinion as to who has a better vocal range. Just to be more specific, a vocal range doesn't only mean high scale although it does play a major part. But it means a scale that encompasses from the lowest to the highest. Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Mohd Rafi had the highest range. Which among the newer talent do you think can compete with them in terms of Rane and range only?

Arijith has a narrow range

Atif... he has bigger range than Arijith.

Hey to be fair.. arijit starts his songs pretty high but I have to agree that when he reaches those higher notes it does feel like he is screeching. I feel the problem with arijit is more his lower notes. He fails to go really low and and when he does he loses the softness in his voice. All his songs are usually high note songs because of that. About Sonu.. he is definitely more mellifluous at all the notes that he sings in and his voice never turns fake.. that's a big plus point.

I voted for sonu... but even Arijit was fabulous with his lower notes in "fir le aaya dil"

his range seems to extend from low to high in his song, what do you say OP??

His voice, IMO his voice is not clean at high/low notes but still sounds beautiful... or is he technically alright?

Feel this song is more mid range.. not low or high. This is one of the songs where his voice isn't breaking. A low range song for him would be fir me aya dil and a high range for him would I think be all the songs like ae dil hai mushkil or gerua. My personal opinion. Feel free to correct me.

Sonu Nigam for all types of songs
Arijit Singh for mainly romantic and classical songs

romantic songs like Tum Hi Ho
classical songs like Aayat and Laal Ishq
