exactly... see how quickly he can go from low to high... and all this while his voice never sounds harsh on the ears...

on the other hand Atif aslam totally spoiled the song "mai vaari jaawan...piya o re piya" for me... wo almost chilla raha tha

Atif Really ?? I would hv been happy seeing papon rather then atif...atif at high range is risk to ears...

I respect your opinion and I really like arijit. In fact I have mentioned that before laal ishq I never thought that arijit could sing this way, but sonu in classical is another league altogether. That's why I made this topic about vocal range, because when it comes to classical technique it's very difficult to beat sonu. Check out any of his songs in classically mild. They are classical at their best. Also check out bawri piya ki live. Then check out inn lamhon me daaman mein live. He so easily infuses classical in contemporary slow that u feel like it's a part of that song itself. Also I do it feel that u require a wide range for classical. U require a good voice control.
Off topic -How is it that people haven't heard sonu sing classical?? Heard satrangi re?? Heard soona soona?? Mera rang de Basanti chola??
Off topic phir me aya dil is a ghazal out and out. Nowhere near classical Hindustani. And both ayat and laal ishq are infused classicals. Semiclassicals at best.
