Do you feel that arijits vocal range for classical and romantic is wider than sonu? Didn't much get your answer.

I am not sure if Sonu sang any classical song
But I have heard those 2 classical songs of Arijit that I have mentioned
So with respect to that I feel range of Arijit for Classical is more than that of Sonu

Hey no offence taken. In fact I'm glad that you came up with this. Till I heard Laal ishq and ayat I wasn't sure what the whole hoopla about arijit was about. Truly and honestly I haven't liked him so much in Aashiqui 2 - the album which actually catapulted him to succes. I felt that every song and singer of the 2000 s bet that album hands down in the soft rock/ balad genre. But then I heard laal ishq and thought wow - this guy can actually sing!!!

But Sonu in classical is another league altogether! You have to listen to his album classically mild. I don't know whether it ever reached the masses but every song in that album is pure gem. That's truly classical at its best. Then his song baawri piya ki - my god! Udit Narayan actually had tears in his eyes when he heard that live. There is a video of that on YouTube if you wanna check it out. There might be areas where arijit beats sonu but classical isn't one of them. Also you should check him out live. Most of the time he infuses classical in his contemporary songs with ease and makes them more beautiful.

Please don't get offended. Just my two cents.

P.S : I do feel that the heavy voice that classical requires is the only place where arijit might.. might score over sonu.

Hey I'm also a big fan of Sonu Nigam but to be fair we have no idea what arijit can or can't sing as the music directers these days play only one type of genre. Every other song is either a soft rock or a ballad. True even previously a particular genre used to become popular and people used to stick with it - like during Kumar Sanu and udit jis time. But at least the singers had the liberty to mould the song to the way they wanted and give it their interpretation. The songs were created for the singers. But now you will see no difference in whether an arijit or an Ankit is singing. Because it's the same tone only the voice changes.

I have actually loved Arijit from the song Phir Mohabbat from Murder 2
He has a very silky type of voice that is good for the love songs IMO
2000s was a real better time with respect to music we had such a variety of singers
Will surely check out some classicals from Sonu and Udit on youtube
It is highly possible that Sonu will beat Arijit there too
But yes from his contemporaries apart from Papon no one can beat Arijit IMO

Sonu Nigam offcourse. He can sing any type of song.

he is best in romantic and classical songs..whether it's semi classical phir le aaya dil or pure classical like aayat or laal ishq..he nails it 👏
main thing is..it's classical which actually tests ur vocal range...high as well as low...


About sonu..I like his romantic songs..haven't heard him singing classical so can't say


Atif Really ?? I would hv been happy seeing papon rather then atif...atif at high range is risk to ears...

Check out this song of Sonu... he has an awesome range... flawless in both low & High notes
