Tubelight Day 2 Collections and Lifetime Prediction

Tubelight was decent on its second day at the box office, but the film failed to show the 5-10% growth that it needed to suggest a positive trend. The movie has collected 42 crore in 2 days at the domestic box office, which is far less than what was expected out of a Salman Khan Eid release.

The next 2-3 days will be crucial for Tubelight, if it has to end with a decent total, although the distributors recovering their investment and the film attaining hit' status doesn't look like a possibility given the level of collections the first two days.

Neither the reports nor the film is as bad as the reviews that the film got, but outright negative reviews and general negativity in the media, seems to have done irrecoverable damage to the box office prospects of Tubelight.

IndicineLBO: We are going with Rs 146 crore as the final lifetime collections of Tubelight. If the collections do indeed finish at this level, Tubelight would be a box office flop and the lowest Eid grosser since 2011's Bodyguard.

Which stars? I'm sure all the biggies have crossed 150 net mark, both the other Khan's, Hrithik, Akki, Ajay and Ranbir have all crossed that mark.

Just to downplay Salman's outright flop, it's not necessary to always bring in other actors who have different target audience and makes different kinds of films.

Which stars? Aamir, SRK, Akshay, Rajnikanth, Hrithik, Kangana, etc. have all crossed 150 cr. So why are you comparing Salman to those small time stars like Siddharth, Sushant, Aditya Roy Kapoor and other chotu motu stars? Is that his aukaad now?

He is talking about SRK's last movie Raees failing to cross even 130 cr and yet getting a semi hit verdict while Salman's latest movie Tubelight might get a flop verdict on only 150 cr business.

Semi hit is more or less a flop for big films. Raees is a flop too. But at least it's a respectable flop. It had a clash, 1000 lesser screens, much lower ticket prices and a dull release period (January).

1000 more screens than Raees, no competition, Eid release, highest ticket prices, and still 150 cr? Absolutely pathetic. =)))))
