Nope, he can't be.

According to the laws of reincarnation in Hindu texts, a soul takes rebirth in another body only after the body it resides in is dead. Amarendra was still alive when Mahendra was conceived, and he was alive for nine months of his conception. He only died the day he was born, and thus Mahendra cannot be the reincarnation of his father, as his soul already existed while his father was alive.

But if you are asking this just for pure entertainment purposes, I don't know, I guess it's possible, though I like to think of Amarendra and Mahendra as different people. I don't like the thought of Amarendra being born the son of his beloved Devasena. 🤣

Rajamouli never showed if Amar died before or after Mahendra's birth, no? She was in labour when he went to save Kattappa. So, we were kept in the dark on that.

Yes, it would be hilarious if Amar was born as his beloved's son. 😛

If t wasn't for Shivagami, Devesena woudln't be relevant. So Shivagami it is. She had her faults but she was far stronger and ferocious.

Shivgami. Without her Amendra wouldn't be what he was so definitely it's Shivgami. She's way more stronger and powerful, Devsena is a warrior and of a strong character too but Shivgami had the whole kingdom under her. She had the power to choose the king so I don't question her power. Whereas in other aspects too she was way better.

Baby was already conceived and had life before Amar's death though, so it already had its own soul and everything. 😉 According to Hindu shastras, a soul enters a new body during conception itself, so Mahendra cannot be Amarendra reincarnated. 😉
