According to the laws of reincarnation in Hindu texts, a soul takes rebirth in another body only after the body it resides in is dead. Amarendra was still alive when Mahendra was conceived, and he was alive for nine months of his conception. He only died the day he was born, and thus Mahendra cannot be the reincarnation of his father, as his soul already existed while his father was alive.

But if you are asking this just for pure entertainment purposes, I don't know, I guess it's possible, though I like to think of Amarendra and Mahendra as different people. I don't like the thought of Amarendra being born the son of his beloved Devasena.🤣
