Hei Mitr, aap ko Urdu bhasha mei dwesh kyoon hain? Sarwa bhasha Bharateeya hi hain. Parantu aap ko ek bhasha me adhik prem lagtaa hei. Yeh moh hei. Is sansaar mei ternaa hain, doobna nahi. Kaam, Krodh, eh sab gun manushya ko aage nahi badne deta hei. In sub gun se mukti paakar, aap ko nishkaam prem ki aur badnaa hoga.

Sounds like a dialogue from a mythological show. Everything has its own place and value. If it is dealing with classic, Sanskrit goes well. Intense feel (for break up songs) Urdu fits better. For dance beats, Punjabi. If one is put in other's place, it looks confusing.

Having said, I do like fusion. Specially ancient with modern. Sanskrit with English. One that comes in my mind is, Tumi Ho Bandhu, Sakha Tumi. It was very creative.

I agree with above though, I'm finding more Punjabi these days.. I don't understand it at all.

agree I don't get the increased Punjabi at all. First I thought it is to appeal to the nri folk but tho in uk Canada (London Toronto) it is made to be majority Punjabi folk there are other Indian nri too.
So annoying
As for Urdu I don't mind it is an Indian lingo and dialogues are in Hindi anyway

Actual Sanskrit with all its long sandhi words is not used in films or even in regular conversation, not in general usage IRL.

In the real world, Sanskrit is used in conversation only in ONE village in Karnataka thats why its the oldest living language

People are confusing actual Sanskrit with Shudh Hindi, sometimes shudh Hindi words are used in mythologicals and historical movies and serials.
Like for example : Yeh Karya hum Swayam Sampurna karengey
This is shudh Hindi, Sanskrit would consist of long sandhi words which most people would not understand unless they studied advanced sanskrit

Shudh Hindi is derived from Sanskrit root words, just like English is derived from Latin root words.

Found another nice answer from Quora.com. It says 'brevity' is the reason Urdu is used in songs 😊

"The best feature of Urdu is its brevity, and guess what, the best asset of any poetry is also brevity i.e. the ability to say much in few words. Urdu enables poets to achieve that feat.

To give an example:
har ek baat pe kehte ho tum ki tu kya hai
tumhi kaho ye andaaze guftgu kya hai

Now try write andaaze guftgu in hindi: Baat karne ka dhang, baat karne ka tareeka

In English: The way you talk

what could be done in 4 words in other languages, Urdu does that in 2 words. That's brevity and that's what poets are after, not the language in particular."

Another person said Urdu is a language of respect and modesty and when you're addressed with such respect, the language sounds sweeter 😊

@flipflop : really funny. Imagine people talking like that in real life. Even Mohan judaro did not have people speaking like that.

Lol, you do mind Punjabi but not Urdu because it's an Indian language. Last I remember.. Punjabi is as much Indian as Urdu. People need to get over this. As long as there are Punjabis in Bollywood the songs and the influence will be there.
