I dont understand why almost all songs have heavy use hard core Urdu in them. Not sure why a great language like Sanskrit is ignored in hindi songs. Urdu is nice I agree, however so is Sanskrit, which is a very strong language. To me bollywood is trying hard to capture one paticular groups market, especially (Pakistanis)

from wikipedia

Urdu is also one of the officially recognized languages in India and the official language of Jammu and Kashmir, one of the two official languages of Telangana and also has the status of "additional official language" in the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and the national capital, New Delhi.

True, now days English and Punjabi too is being used, however Urdu is still used the most, why not purer hindi? which is more Sanskrit. They are hardly hindi songs

The funny thing though is, the dialogues in bollywood movies are more purer hindi, but songs still tend to be more Urdu

tough yes, but why not use them? they are part of our heritage. Bollywood to me is not even fully a hindi industry, a lot of it caters to outsiders, for example now days all the movies are westernized, targeting mostly NRI's and other foreigners, nobody is making movies for Indians in India

I think the reason is simple, Sanskrit is no longer been spoken, hasn't been a spoken language for a long time... Masses won't understand them
Urdu still is a spoken language and one of the official languages of India..

Urdu is an Indian language, so it's not like they're using a foreign language

It is more flowery than Hindi bcz it's influenced by Arabic, Persian

BAAHUBALI everything was so Indian in it...uff I loved that movie hope rajmauli make more movies.
OT- I don't find anything wrong in urdu it's an Indian language...and I guess they should promote sanskrit too..like they can use it in songs..
